Vibration Plate TSV....?

Hi. I have heard two hosts say that this is a "return TSV" from May. While I no longer watch QVC the way I did 25 yrs ago, I usually check the TSV daily, but I don't remember this (maybe the Christmas champagne?lol)

*There are NO reviews to check out. (I hate it when they change the item number to make it appear as a blank slate!!)

*Did you purchase this in May? Thoughts on this model?

*IF you have a vibration plate/platform, do you like it? Why? Why not?

I had previouly looked at the Tony Little model on HSN, but its gone now too. Poof. Not even a sold out page!

I could find only one other thread about this TSV, and it turned into an 'I use this other equipment' thread. I have been looking at this type of equipment for awhile and would like the input.

This appears to be the "new and improved" version of the old vibrating belts of the 1950s. These were pretty much a joke at the time and were bebunked by medical science as useless. They quickly faded from the scene, only to be seen in comedy skits.

The product concept was new to me, so when someone posted here recently (don't remember the forum) and was very enthusiastic about the one she bought, I looked into them.

I didn't go far to find serious warnings.

"Vibration can have adverse effects on a number of physiologic systems. This work indicates that readily accessible WBV devices markedly exceed ISO guidelines for safety, and extreme caution must be practiced when considering their use."

Check out vibration therapy on google. Also, you can read a lot of reviews on Amazon, of various vibration plates. I got a LifePro one, and love it. Do your research before you buy. Make sure it's for you. Not eveybody likes them. My husband gets on it for 2 min, and he's done. LOL Good luck!

Before I had my double hip and double knee joint replacements I had two vibration plates I used daily....mostly used for helping build bone mass.

I read that the vibrations can loosen joint replacements...and I wanted to take NO CHANCES with that!

So I donated both of them to goodwill.

Not something you would want to buy. Too many people IN THE KNOW told me it not only does not work but it might be unsafe.

So I was married to a wonderful man for 38 years when he died in my arms suddenly.

But when Eleanor called in and said “It was an early birthday present”.

It reminded me of the time my husband got me a scale for my birthday.

That was before we had children. As soon as they could walk and talk I sent them with my husband to shop for mommy.

I’d make sure one of their first words were “diamonds”. I’m kinda kidding.

That poor man paid for getting me that scale. He kept saying “But SHE said she wanted one”.

That scale was right up there with the purple sweater with the hole in it! Ha! That was also before we had children.

Come on ladies...what are some of the ‘misses’ you received along the years?

I hope you took a lesson from my book and don’t be shy..think of telling your significant other exactly what you want by doing him / her a favor and putting notes up everywhere.

It doesn’t have to be expensive, but it does need to be something you’d really like.

These days I buy it for myself.

Just using my common sense, it looks to be another gimmick/gagette. I agree with the post about it being hard on joints; absolutely looks that way.

They use them in PT....also at gyms. I do not think they are for people with any kind of joint replacement or implant devices for obvious reasons.
