Two Penguins Looking at Lights

I came across this touching photo on my Facebook page.

It was taken by photographer Tobias Baumgartner in 2019.

Each penguin had lost their mate, but they found comfort in each other's company.

They would spend hours each evening, just hanging out together, staring at the skyline.

The picture has won numerous awards.

I think that the picture is so sweet!

So cute to have caught this.

It's interesting to know 90% of all penquins mate for life. So, these two might have gotten married.

Not many animals mate for life. Here are a few.

Wolves

Foxes

Coyotes

Bald Eagles

Beavers

Barn Owls

Pigeons

This is an image like you would see in an animated film. What a romantic the penguin is, his flipper draped across her back just gazing at the lights, he's more of a romantic than some men!
