Went shopping today....

It has been three weeks since my last outing...went to three stores ONLY because I had 20% off coupons for two of them. Stocked up on the things I always buy....20% off is pretty good,saved about $11 plus dollars in each store that I used a coupon. So about $25.00 total.

I went early...not much foot traffic.... tried to be careful as I could.

I go get my flu shot this coming Monday...so ANOTHER outing and risk of Covid.....

rates of Covid 19 In Washington State are on the rise again.....especially in King County where I live. I heard that in the state of Idaho it is SO BAD they are sending patients to our hospitals here in Washington state because they have run out of room in Idaho hospitals 😢

Sorry to hear about the increases.

Yesterday in my state we had the highest death rate so far.

It is so sad.

So glad to here you had a nice, much needed outing.

Sorry about the influx of patients in your hospital.

When you go to the grocery store, is everyone masked?

I went yesterday and a late 30's guy didn't have on a mask! I just looked at him.

I think every establishment should post mandatory masks.

I am trying to keep myself as safe as reasonably possible.

I wear a mask,

go out as little as possible

got my flu shot

at work, we wear masks and a face shield.

@SeaMaiden If I had a fist full of 20% off coupons, there's no way I'd go to a store. It's not worth the risk for a measly $25. I'm not that desperate. Just think of what you might be trading for chump change. Sorry, but that seems very foolish.

Here in my part of SoCal, I have never seen anyone in a market without a mask. Today as I was leaving TJ's, a man was entering with out one. The worker at the door reminded him, and the man put his on.

@ECBG Today everyone was wearing a mask thank goodness..... but other trips there is always THAT PERSON with no mask.....or wearing on his or her chin😡

@Kachina624 Hello. I understand. But I tried the online ordering business....it just never worked out for me. I am very picky about my groceries.

Sometimes people are preoccupied and honestly forget to put one on.

It happened to me recently when I stopped in at a corner mom & pop mini-mart.

I felt guilty for not wearing one, but the clerk said, "Don't worry about it."

Point is, people are not infallible, and as common as it is to wear a mask, it is still possible for one to accidentally forget to put one on.

We're only human.

We have a fairly high number of people in my state who choose

not to wear masks.

I can not say what my feelings are about that here.

While I have been scrupulous about masks, staying out of stores, social distancing because I am high risk, I can only take care of me. I have no control what others do and how they are coping, nor will I criticize their choices even though they are not mine. People in my area are having remolding done, and I won't let workers in my home. We are all coping as best we can.

I have been inside a store probably less than 10 times since this mess started.

Like you, @SeaMaiden, I don't always have good luck with what I am ordering from the grocery stores. I do plan to go in Sams in the next few weeks. There are a few other stores I plan on going inside also, before winter hits.

i have not been in a store in over a year, long before this mess. I sure as heck am not going in one now.

Wearing a mask is common sense and as my husband used to say, "It's about the person next to you"

A little courtesy goes a long way. having said that, I will probably go into Walgreens or CVS to get my flu shot but I will take a look at the number of cars the parking lot first and I will go in and get my shot and get the heck out. I have lost too many people to this virus and I will definately do my part to keep me and my loved ones as safe as can be. Why? because it is about the people NEXT To ME and not about ME

The guidelines also reinforce the concept of time spent around others is not wise.

I hope more people take more care so we can all be safer.

Just say no to entering an enclosed space with others.

I had to go to Pottery Barn yesterday to return some things that I had ordered. I was walking in and saw two people walking out with masks on and realized I had forgotten mine. I keep one in my purse, so I immediately put it on.

I do think you can forget, but that's why I keep one in my purse as well as a couple in my car.

I've been lucky. Have resumed shopping in my supermarket a several months ago-- mainly because they started charging for their personal shopping service! But, despite being compromised, I felt it was time to do it, cautiously.

The store is scrupulous about mask wearing, distancing, constant cleaning. The few other stores that I visit sporadically do require the same, and of course, I thoroughly sanitize any carts I use, and my hands before, and after.

I've seen one man who seemed (although I don't know for sure) to be consciously spurning a mask in a required mask area; a couple of people who had it pulled below their noses (!), and one woman who I believe simply forgot. But the vast majority here wear masks and distance for all indoor activities. Probably because our state had high numbers and deaths in the beginning, so people became accustomed to being cautious.

All stores here have signs on the doors saying a mask is required. You are given a mask if you don’t have one or are asked to leave. So far, when I go to the grocery store I have not seen anyone without one in a long time, and anyone not wearing one is usually a younger person (20’s-30’s) and they have it hanging around their neck but it is not covering their face. Makes me crazy! I am still doing the face mask, hand sanitizer, wipes, and hand washing routine. Just seems too risky not to do it.

I feel comfortable in the senior hour for Trader Joe's and Costco. They have always required masks and enforce it. I get a weekly small order delivered from an upscale market (so I can be sure of the quality of produce). I plan to hunker down at home for the winter. Making another pot of soup today to freeze in individual serving sizes.
