Have you purchased tires at Costco?

How did the process go? They're having a special on Michelin's right now and I want to take advantage, but when I call the tire center nobody will pick up, and the couple of times I've been there, there was nobody at the tire service desk.

I bought all my tires from Costco for years; very fast and seamless. Eventually switched to local shop because Costco is three hours away.

I've done it twice. The only thing is it is first come, first serve, so you have to wait around if it's busy if you don't have a ride from someone.

When they have their special pricing, it's a great value. It was the reason I first joined Costco because someone suggested it as a good price for 4 tires.

I have bought tires at Costco twice - great prices and very competent service. However, the wait time for installation was very long -- used the time to shop at the store. I plan to buy my next tires there, whether or not I use the wait time to shop.

As others have posted, professional service and longer wait time. We go when they first open so as to shorten the wait time.

We've had no problem ordering and installation was good. You get free rotations when you purchase their tires.

@PilatesLover. Yes I've bought Michelines there twice on their Mich sale. The second time just this past April shortly after the pandemic started (I had been waiting for the Mich sale). Thank goodness they were open because I really needed new tires!

I won't buy tires anywhere else. Their guarantee is great. Also once I got a flat tire in another city (nail in tire, I'd been on the road) and thank goodness there are Costcos around the country! got it fixed for free at that city's Costco.

My Subaru dealership of course wanted to sell me tires and said they could match anyone's price except Costco's because they just can't sell Michelines that inexpensively.

Both times I replaced my cars' tires (two different vehicles) with Michelines (in my current car it came with Bridgestones) there was a big difference I could feel in how much better the car rides --- much better/smoother. The thing about Costco is, they don't do alignments so you have to go get the vehicle aligned somewhere else after you get the tires.

I’ve purchased tires with ease but not during all the dislocations going on now.

also, there’s a difference from one Costco to another - or should I say I’ve seen differences in the 2 I use most often

Have purchased tires from Costco whenever needed. Great prices, especially when a sale is on. If you have to wait to have the tires installed, the tire shop will take your cell phone number and call you when they're done while you're in the main store.

Never had any problem at all with the tires or their service.

I purchased new tires from Costco in September and had a great experience. You can make an appointment ahead of time and everything worked out well. Plus, my car has very unique tires and their pricing was awesome in comparison to what I would pay through the Audi dealership - at least a $400 savings. Definitely would recommend!

I buy my tires through my mechanic, who sells them at cost. I do that because I want to see the date code for myself before they're installed, to make sure they're less than 12 months old, and to have them sent back if they're too old or the TIN is incomplete (suggesting they weren't made for the US market). There are a lot of major suppliers who've been caught selling stale tires. The accident rate goes way up on tires that are older. I think it starts to rise at 6 years.

Costco tires are terrific- love the specials they run! And if you have their credit card it's a nice Costco rebate at the end of the year. Yes, sometimes it can be a wait, but it's well worth it. My best advice is to get to the tire center in the store earlier in the day.

I have purchased tires there twice with good results but what impressed me the most was last year my neighbor said I needed new tires so I headed to Costco. They came out and looked at my car and asked who told me I needed new tires. The consensus of two of the employees was I did not need new tires.

We have bought our tires at Costco for years. The Michelins we have are exclusive to Costco. Good service, warranty, and price.

Yes, a few sets of Michelin's. You can always order online and have tires delivered to your Costco. I always order and then make arrangements to leave my car for part of the day. I also live close to our local store.

@lovesrecess. I found out when I bought mine in April that they are a popular Michelin sold at many places nationwide but are given a different name when sold at Costco. Same tire but the name is exclusive to Costco. The Costco tire supervisor told me this.

It went very well! I discovered the reason why I couldn't get through on the phone - the technicians are constantly in the bays working. You have to stand and wait until one comes out for something, then they come right over. The manager who handled my sale was wonderful. Best of all was the price, four brand new Michelins plus install and tax for $490. All the guys were in clean uniforms with Michelin Certified Technician badges. I was impressed.

My granddaughter had tires put on this past Friday she was bery happy. Quite a-nice discount. The service was good. She was scheduled for 2, and they were done at 3:30
