British QVC YouTube Video’s

Does anyone check these out?

I recently stumbled across a few, with a host Catherine Huntley. She's an attractive, "well endowed lady"😉 She also, apparently, sees no reason, to, attempt to disguise this.

Apparently, the British, are much less uptight, about, some cleavage. (OK, a lot of the comments seemed to come from men😉).

I got a chuckle out of watching, imagining the forums, if Catherine was here! They also, seemed quite relaxed, with their presentations.

I think I would like British QVC!

I think it could be a good thing! I'll betcha there'd be a lot fewer hubby's complaining about their wives watching QVC!

In fact. QVC could become something to watch together.Maybe for different reasons, but 😉

The British are not as uptight about our bodies as we are. Every morning a naked girl is on one of their newspaper shows up as a kind of good morning.

Not just the UK. The Italians laugh at us sometimes. All over Europe they are much more open about how they dress, what they show etc. Europe used to be filled with strict dogma in how they acted and dressed. The countries used to be theocracies, not democracies. They are all but gone now. Most countries in Europe are open and very, very liberal. Only the U.S. has remained strict when you compare with them. We think we are liberal. Our kind liberalism in Europe is way too conservative. The are much more liberal in morals and politics.

It's a left over protestant work ethic and morals that is part of the U.S. and will never leave. It's deeply ingrained.

Everyone is well aware that they communicate with how they dress and groom themselves. Some just don't care. And they have that right.

They're still very uptight about male nudity in Europe. Some of the attitudes about female nudity are actually very old sexist attitudes. If they were truly so loosey goosey and letting it all hang out, there would be just as much comfort with attractive young men in being objectified and oogled by all.

I agree.

We are still a very Puritanical society.

Just look at how people lost their collective "minds" when Janet Jackson had that (in)famous wardrobe malfunction, and people saw her bare breast for like half a second.

You would've thought she was doing the whole Half-Time show in her birthday suit!

I have a British friend and they are very HYPOCRITICAL about censorship....while they may be more liberal about female nudity....they are the opposite when it comes to WORDS that are allowed to be sent over the telly or airwaves.....Some swear words are deemed too nasty for viewers or listeners. Sexual terms are seen in a similar way, they were viewed as distasteful and unnecessary....I guess you can SEE it, you just CAN'T SAY IT!! 😉

Even a word like "fanny" was seen as crude and uneccessary...Or a word like "****** off" was viewed as unacceptable....

An American celebrity was viewed as "vulgar" for saying a word in an interview that most Americans wouldnt have given a second thought....(although the Forum Guidelines here agree with british standards and view it as unacceptable)....

Agreed, the Brits are interesting to watch in their sales pitches-- there are slightly different emphases on aspects of the various products, which can be fascinating and even amusing.

As far as modesty vs. more body display, it's a choice, like anything else People who cover more can be doing so for a variety of reasons, as can those who cover less. Aesthetically, I lean more to the almost eccentrically modest "Diane Keaton school"-- at least, the young Diane Keaton. I haven't followed her enough recently to know if she still dresses the way she used to. She quirkily covered almost everything, wore high necks, long skirts and trousers, someone joked that oven mitts were part of her ensembles, and combat boots! She looked whimsical and fun.

I also think men who wear standard business attire, which is traditionally very covered up, are at their most appealing. Conversely, guys who break out their sandals at every opportunity, not a fave look to me, ha. Just personal preference.

I obviously did a really poor job of communicating, with this post.

I have no problem with cleavage, nor, for that matter language. Some of the best, most caring and generous people I know, have, a Very colorful vocabulary!

I kind of stumbled on those video's, and they made me think, about how the host would be received here, based on many of the, "I'm no prude, but----" posts, I've seen.

It made me chuckle, but, I guess, I way missed the Mark!
