I always thought this was Jimmy Cliff's song! The versions are so similar and the vocals sound so much alike. I love that Jimmy Cliff didn't change the instrumental sound in his. I loved the movie "Cool Runnings" that featured this song in the early 90's.

This song makes me happy and sad at the same time. Wistful I guess.

@Suziepeach There is also a super cool video of him on YouTube singing this song on the Midnight Express. He is in tight black leather with studs and looks like a scary dude 👹 and then he starts singing and smiling a great smile and then he looks and sings like an angel. 😇

Anyone remember what commercial used that song? It was so overplayed that I got tired of that song for a while. Was it for Windex or something (i.e. I can see clearly now...)?

He was a good looking man and that voice- meowwww...
