A Covid Question

Since there are at least six known strains of Covid if a Covid positive person undergoing treatment comes in sustained contact with someone, confirmed or not, that also has Covid but of a different strain what effects would the possible commingled infection have on the person being treated and their treatment protocol?

I doubt even a doctor would know the answer. They are only making "educated" guesses about most of this stuff anyway.

The virus is so new, there's not a lot known about it, but if it's like other viruses, immunity to one strain doesn't make you immune to another. They highly recommend getting a flu shot so you don't risk getting two viruses at the same time.

Don't give the conspriacy theorists any new ammunition! lol You know they'll say, "Well...see...if you get two different Covid strains going at the same time, they'll just fight each other and leave you alone and you'll be fine." It'll be touted as a new therapy. I pulled that idea out of thin air, but there's inevitably someone somewhere who would think it was genius and worth trying.

I hope we never find out what happens if this occurs. Seems like there are those who are trying hard to make it happen though.

@manny2 No-she asked a question. Nobody here can answer that question; none of us are professionals in the field (pitdakota the exception).

This is what she asked.....

So while a discussion can be valid, asking us about the different strains of COVID is beyond our expertise.

We will see various scenarios about COVID; some may be valid, some may not be valid and in the end nobody really has the answer.

I think doctors treat covid as a condition nonspecific for any strain. People take cold /flu medications for symptoms they have from all different stains of the cold /flu virus, for example.

Seems the discussion should be with those thst may actually have some answers. Why spread more misinformation.
