I read that Disney plans to layoff 28,000 employees due to the closure. I don't think California Disney is open. It is very sad for the employees.

From the very beginning of this pandemic I didn't think this country would recover economically. I sure hope I'm wrong.

Well we still aren't even doing anything about it, so this is just the middle of the beginning. Economically and healthwise, things can get so much worse.

Well, I just heard on my local news that they don't think we will peak now until Feb. I thought it was suppose to be earlier than that?

I'm afraid there will end up being even more layoffs. Thats 5 more months and we are 6 months in.

My daughter just flew from Miami to Orlando last week.

The plane was totally full.

My other daughter flew here from Denver, her plane was totally packed too.

My friend needed tickets from Virginia to Georgia. The first time she looked the tickets were $900 each. She waited and went back and they found tickets for $300 each.

My son and his fiancé work for Disney. My son got called back a few months ago, but not her. Sure hope she does not get let go. Disney is still paying her health care.

@Annabellethecat66 : my cousin and his family flew last weekend. Said the plane was full but there were very, very few people in the airports. I am guessing that the number of flights has been greatly reduced on all routes.

@queendiva Yes, the airlines will be having layoffs.

Things are realigning. As a nation, we must first work together to stop the coronavirus. Until there is a vaccine we must social distance, wear masks and get our flu shots. Our country will open up once the virus is under control.

I flew last weekend to Denver and back. Both planes were full without an empty seat. They wanted people to check their carry-on luggage. I thought nothing was different except people wearing masks. The airport seemed full like before especially at DIA. The food court, the amount of people etc. The people on the planes packed themselves in like before with no social distancing while boarding and deplaning.

There was no beverage service except in first class. Most people in first class did not get drinks though.

I was surprised the people that seemed laxed were the ticket agents and flight attendants in the airport. One attendant I saw held a water bottle in his hand without his mask and if anyone looked at him, he took a sip.

Two ticket agents had only their mouths covered and not their nose. It was just announced by them that the mask had to cover both mouth and nose and the masks with exhalation valves were not allowed.

if they keep these lock downs in place than , it hampers people getting back to work .Look at the data from Sweden vs Spain . Our Chief Medical advisors said we had to shut down . Spain had a nation wide strict shut down and their economy sunk . Now people are protesting to reopen . Why can't us people who are at high risk take the precautions that we need . just let the less vunerable go back to work and live as before . We cannot make those who are not high risk for the virus become high risk to the ill effects of all these shut downs such as depression, poverty , substance abuse , not to mention millions of children not being educated. This virus is going to be around for a while so we all need to change to deal with it.

@Shelbelle , I think it will be awhile but eventually they will get there. There are a lot of people who have cruises booked for November 1 because that is when the Cruise Line Industry's voluntary no sale order expires. The CDC no sale order expires today but it's my understanding they are going to extend it through next month. It's also my understanding Dr. Redfield wanted it extended through February, 2021 but was overruled.

I belong to several cruising FB groups and people are ready to go and the cruiselines have been working to get protocols in place to get cruising up and running.

It's like dining indoors (NYC allows it beginning today): participating depends upon your personal comfort levels. No one is required to engage in any of these activities.

I have dined indoors in parts of NYS that already allowed it. I never felt distressed and all state protocols were followed.

These people in the groups I'm in just keep booking. If they had a May cruise that was canceled, they booked for June. When that was canceled, they booked for July. Then when cruising was shut down through September, they booked for October and on and on and on.

There are a lot of less visual ones too. Vendors at stadiums, school bus drivers....

My last credit card bills were just a fluke with timing, but I had only two grocery and one gas. Not stimulating the economy here. Amazon has now caught up with me, but still..
