PEOPLE WITH GOOD HEARTS

Here's the thing about people with good hearts...

They give you excuses when you don't explain yourself. They accept apologies you don't give. At your worst, they lift you up, even if it means putting their priorities aside.

Its because they don't make you work hard for the attention they give you.

They accept the love they think they've earned and you accept the love you think you are entitled to.

LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING

Fear the day when a good heart gives up on you. Our skies don't become grey out of no where. Our sunshine does not allow the darkness to take over for no reason.

A heart doesn't turn cold unless it's been treated with coldness for a while. Remember that.

Personally I don't believe the true heart ever goes cold. Unconditional love is our nature and it goes on and on. Conditions don't matter to it.

It might not be possible to be around someone who has betrayed you or harmed you, for your own safety and wellbeing as well as theirs. But you can still love them unconditionally just as warmly and strongly as ever, and maintain hope for the person and believe in their future for them even when they can't.

Love doesn't mean being a squish. And having limits on others' behavior doesn't mean being cold. Just the way I see it, having lived as long as I have and having encountered plenty of people who are not very easy to love.

I only know a few people with what I consider a good heart.

I do treasure their friendship and I'm very careful to take care not to take advantage of their goodness.

I try to remember to remind them I'm there for them when they need help or just someone to listen and not judge.

Friendships must be carefully tended to. It takes time and energy to care for a friendship.

But the rewards are well worth it. I think all of us as we've gotten old(er) realize the importance of good friends.

In this life there are givers and takers.

So, I ask you, which are you? Come on...be honest. Not what you'd like to be but what YOU THINK others would say about YOU.

@Annabellethecat66 ...First of all I hope you don't think I was the author of the "People With Good Hearts" unfortunately there was no name connected to this.

I had some amazing friends who sadly passed away. One was a friend for 65 years, another 35 years and another 16 years. In all of those years none of us ever said a cross word to the other. What do I think others would say about me? The same thing I would say about them...we were always there for one another, in any way possible.

I know too well that good hearts are taken for granted. And the ones with the good hearts dont really realize their own value.

@Lindsays Grandma I didn’t really think about who the author was.

I just enjoyed the words.

I have a lot of says, poems, etc, in my kitchen.

They are “food for thought”. Most of them are only a few lines, but that often is all that’s necessary to get a thought across.

There is one that’s quite a bit longer that I’ve save. When my husband died, I donated his corneas and some of his bones.

This article was in the paper published by these people.

The anniversary of his death AND the anniversary of our wedding is coming up within the next few weeks.

I prefer to think of the many happy years we had together than to dwell on his death. Life is amazing....

@Annabellethecat66 ...You have a very healthy outlook on life. It is so much easier to think the way you do and live the way you do than being unhappy day after day. It is so much more pleasant being with someone like you, no one likes being around a downer.

From the time I was eighteen until today, I have experienced many unpleasant situations. I am a fighter, a survivor, a lover of life who will never allow adversities to drag me down. You have dealt with the loss of your beloved husband and instead of mourning you are celebrating the anniversary along with the anniversary of your wedding. Congratulations, and yes, life is amazing when you look at it the way you do.

@Lindsays Grandma Well I am constantly saying I wish life was like my TV changer where anything (be it human or otherwise) I could fast forward over it like I do with my TV changer...Ha!

It’s difficult sometimes to not let negative things get me down. I have a very strong sense of right and wrong. It constantly causes angst where upon I have to remind myself if I stay angry or upset I am giving the person ( if it’s a human) causing the problem, control over my day.

I decided a long time ago it is easier to forgive and move on than hanging onto anger. It just takes way more energy to be angry.

If I’m being honest, I must admit everything going on in this country recently makes it way more difficult to let “it” go.

I’m a firm believer that the energy you put out is the kind of energy you receive.

My my daughter is going through an extremely difficult divorce. I keep telling her she’s lucky because she has the support of her family and a mom (thanks to her daddy) who has enough money to pay for lawyers and just to live her life.

She’s always been a stay at home mom. Her children (3) are still young. Were it not for my support she would have 0 income. Her ex-husband finds ways to suck out money he’s supposed to give her in spousal support. The laws in Florida are not in favor of females....let’s leave it at that.

The other day she said “I’ve always said to my girls the same thing you used to say to us...”Look at the beautiful day the Lord has given us...(and we’d all say) “Thank you God”.

It’s when your own children thank you for a wonderful childhood; or repeat the little phrases you (as a parent) said to them, that’s what makes you realize, your outlook and struggle to stay positive was worth every minute of it.

@Annabellethecat66 ...I fully understand about your daughter going through an extremely difficult divorce, been there, done that. I had one lawyer who told me that when there is a divorce all love a man had for the woman goes away. He didn't have to tell me that, actions speak louder than words. I am sorry your daughter has to go through that painful ordeal. I believe she learned some wonderful things from you which she will pass on to her three lovely children.

I find forgiving a hard thing to do so I handle it differently, I forget and move on. To this day I cannot understand how people can hurt someone they once loved, or a friend they were close to. I have a daughter who made my life miserable for years when she and her boyfriend and then husband were on drugs for ten years. He was abusive and I was there for her, always. When she would call me in the middle of the night to pick her up from their apartment I did it regardless of the fact I had to get up at 6:00 AM to get ready to go to work. Did I ever get a thank you? To this day, no I have not.

Anyway, you have a wonderful outlook where life is concerned. And you are 100% correct When you say; "It just takes away more energy to be angry." I'm glad to have gotten to know you, and oh, It is so wrong for the state of Florida to side with the man over the woman. More later...
