YES. Always round up is the correct thing to do. The QVC scam is to round down, ALWAYS, or say $29 and some change.

For those that think it's $30 then when asked your your age I bet no one rounds up when close to their birthday or weight even when real close to a higher weight!!!!!

@catlover , I agree. I always round up. Look at gas prices. It's aways the large #'s that attract your attention when it's only 1/10th of a cent from being really a dollar more then your brain sees, IMO.

I never understood that about retail prices. I guess it is to make you feel the item is less. I'd rather the price be rounded to an even number. If they tag it for $23.99-- just put $24.00! I think it's dumb and then if you are paying with cash, there is the penny thing. Seems just all a mind game is all!

Lol, don't forget the comment, "We're giving you....." No, you're not giving me anything if I'm paying for it. I have to laugh when they say something that is $29.98 is under $30. It's $30. Actually, I add in the shipping into the cost too, so more like $35. Then there's the easy pay. That same item will be on 3 easy pays and they'll keep saying you can get it for $10. I can probably go to the mall and get something similar for a good price, add in a sale price, use a coupon and save on shipping.

I live within walking distance of 4 grocery stores and a short drive to 2 others. Like a good neighbor, I patronize all of them for different items and often several times a week. When paying, several of them ask if I want to round up to the nearest dollàr (for charity) which I do. They are not doing this because of the coin shortage, because I always pay with a credit card.

So I guess I do round up a lot.

All retail businesses/advertisers do this, it's not just QVC and certainly not new.

Ever seen an infomercial on TV for a product whose price didn't end in .99?
