Number 20 in the Plum series comes out tomorrow (11/19), Takedown Twenty! I love this series of her books and cannot wait to receive mine, I preordered!

I remember reading the books, all of them, in bed at night. This is when I learned to laugh silently. Yes, you can do it. I didn't want to wake DH so I had no choice. And with some of that Grandma Mazur stuff, I mean, I was semi hysterical. I will always love these books and this last one was no exception. I wish Joe and Stephanie would get closer, but somehow I think it would change things and things wouldn't be the same. I so want them to stay the same.

if her and joe got too close, ranger might be out of the picture and that would be terrible! grannie is always a hoot.

You ladies are so smart to bring this thread back up ........ I cannot wait for the new book coming out in June, in fact, it's around my Birthday, LOL!

I wish they would do another movie based on the Stephanie Plum series, even if it's a Lifetime movie, but get better actors than the last one!

Haven't been here in years (since they stopped shipping to Canada, boo) but still read when I can. I just have a question about this series - I haven't read any of her books and am interested in starting - do I need to start at the beginning with her first book? Thanks for your help!!!

If you read a brief summary of the series, I would think you could start on any one of the books, luvshopp. I listen to them on books-on-CD in no particular order.

Nah, you could start anywhere. Nothing ever changes, and in the beginning of each book she says, 'I'm Stephanie Plum and I'm a bounty hunter' and gives a very brief history of herself-and the two guys she's involved with and isn't willing to give up either of them. So funny. I started with book two where I read all about Grandma Mazur and laughed till my sides hurt. She was much featured in that one I think and I love her. Just read any one and I think you'll be craving more.

Has anyone read the two books Janet has co-authored with Lee Goldberg?

They are THE HEIST and THE CHASE ..... and the protagonist is FBI Agent Kate O"Mare.

I have read both of them, and they are really good! Usually Evanovich's collaborations with other authors are very weak, but I liked these. Very cute. Also, wanted to add to Luvshopp that the first book in the series, "ONE FOR THE MONEY" was very good; I would start with that one, if you can.

FYI ---------- Two of my favorite non-Stephanie books that Janet has done are METRO GIRL and MOTOR MOUTH. They take place mostly in Florida and the "background" is about car racing and the Daytona 500 ...... if you love Janet's writing, you'll like these.

I get a lot of good paperback bargains on the 'bay.

Have you read THE HEIST and THE CHASE, which Janet coauthored with Lee Goldberg? They are quite good!
