The calls are beyond awkward and not helpful at all. 1% keep it light and positive and the other 99% have a personal tragedy they want to share with America.

They really need to get rid of them. You can tell the hosts hate them too.

Enjoy the people who call in. I get many good ideas for items I want to purchase that I hadn't thought of before listening to the caller.

Some callers tell about their personal lives and I don't mind that at all. Everyone should be as a good a listener as David is and show empathy for anyone who has had a personal loss. Nothing wrong with that and no reason for QVC to stop the people from calling in. It truly shows how comfortable people are with David and other hosts on QVC.

@Roscoe the Rascal My DH called me in from another room, and I told him not to worry because David could handle it with compassion and grace. I have to say, it was more unusual than most.

People are lonely because of what seems like house arrest. I would simply give them a pass. Makes them feel good to talk to someone and especially on TV.

But nothing beats the call Leah got on AM Style when a woman was talking to Leah on the phone, and a male came into the room where the woman was and tried to interrupt her, and she yelled can't you see I'm on the (F Bomb) phone....and Leah was very gracious and said...."its a live television show"....QVC either cut her off or the woman hung up....(its on You Tube).....

None of these calls have ever had an impact on what I buy. Callers are always thrilled with whatever it is, so it's very much like listening to the host. HSN handles calls much better. They speak briefly, and then they're done. Really, I think often the benefit is to the host because it gives them a way to kill some time on an item.

Used to be that some callers would ask specific product questions that were helpful in buying a product if you didn't have a computer or didn't have time to log on. Some callers would give good suggestions as to how an item could be improved or request added colors or designs in an item .

Sad to say that there are so many people who are lonely and whose only lifeline is to watch shopping channels to call in at times to talk with one of the Hosts. It is further sad to say that some of these lonely people spend all their money on items from these shopping channels that they may never use.

I'll always remember the horrendous call that Kathy Levine had to deal with one evening.

She apologized to the viewers and handled it with grace but you could see that she was shocked. The call started out fine and then quickly went south. It was obviously not a legitimate call and the caller purposely said what she did to cause shock and embarrass the host.

They immediately shut her off but I could just imagine this person sitting at home and laughing at what she thought she pulled over on the call screener.

I can't repeat what this caller said but I'm sure some of you longtime viewers remember this call.

the calls are useless and not helpful. the best was last week when a caller called in during the kim gravel show asking about lacey bras. lol. Kim was a real good sport about it. They tried to get her to talk about flexibell but she kept repeating how she loves those lacey bras
