I have no explanation

Ok, before I start, let me be clear I'm not a hoarder. This morning I was doing some arranging in the garage and I had to move some old outdoor furniture. Anyway, I found a box, unopened, from QVC, with the paperwork on the outside. I had no clue. When I opened it it was a black fan, it was adjustable. The paperwork was from May 2011 ! This was right after I retired and and I have no recollection of ordering it. I unpacked it plugged it in and it works fine. It was kind of a twilight zone moment. 🤣🤣

@QVCkitty1 You are not alone! I just opened one from 2010. I have looked at that box for apparently 10 years (does not seem that long) and I knew what was in it, which was probably why I was in no hurry to open it. A little annoyed with myself but glad that it is opened and the box has been recycled. Should have been done a long time ago.

Yay it works and you have another fan! At least you found it in the summer. If it were me, and I found it during winter, I would probably lose track of it again before summer comes back around.

But, seriously, I've BTDT too so don't feel like the Lone Ranger.

I've been going through clothing lately and have found so many things I didn't even know I had. Don't get me wrong, I am totally NOT a fashionista or any version of a clothes horse type person, so that's why it's so odd. The good part is that all these things are a smaller size. For a few years I had gained a few pounds so now that I'm back to normal I have all these old/new things to wear!

Those of us missing our packages that never arrive, VOILA! Someone is pussyfooting around the delivery hubs and the name is @QVCkitty1 (insert mugshot here) 😂🤫

That is not a problem I have ever had nor will have. When I order something I intend to use it, generally as soon as I take it out of the packaging.

Now my better half, I cannot speak of what she does. Me being the frugal one(some use cheap), my online ordering is pretty much something I/we need, not just want.

I usually keep a close eye on what I order, all I can think of was my life was kind of upside down . I retired in Feb. of that year, and by April I was working per diem.Iwas just getting used to being home, and someone needed surgery, so it was back to work for me . Anyway that's all I can come up with.

@QVCkitty1 Nice to know I'm not the only one with an unboxed fan in the garage. I don't remember how long it's been there, but I remember why.

I thought the remote on another fan was broken and a part missing (we don't need to talk about why 😔). The fan is in the bedroom, so I think anyone can understand the importance of the remote. So I ordered a new fan. Before I got it open, I found the missing part for the remote and fixed it and all was well. 🙂. So I put the unopened fan out there.

Out of curiosity, I'm going to check the paperwork on that fan and see just how long I've had it. And maybe I'll unbox it, set it up and use it there. I've got some work to do in the garage.

Years ago, I had something similar, though, not as dramatic happen.

I was getting ready to go on a 2 week vacation. While watching an 18k gold show, I saw this fabulous, though pricey, pair of earrings. I decided, what the heck I'd order, and if they weren't perfection, they'd definitely go back! I knew they'd arrive while I was gone, but, I'd still have plenty of time to check them out and return, if needed.

Well, they arrived, as I was headed out the door, to the airport. I tossed them in a bottom dresser drawer.

Back from vacay, I got caught up in a staffing crisis at work, and a failing, romantic relationship.

It was 4 months, before I came across them. They were fabulous, but almost $1,000. QVC verified they were still in inventory, and very graciously allowed me to return them!
(What was I thinking?)
