Check Hand Sanitizers for Methanol

Hand Sanatizers with methanol:

While in a Boscov's department store this weekend, I saw that they hand a large display of hand sanitizers for sale.

As I was trying to read the ingredients for the dangerous methanol item, the salesperson came over and said that they had gotten rid of all the bottles that contained methanol.

Suggested that they put up a sign to that effect but she said she wasn't in charge.

The problem also is that some if the bottles with ethyl alcohol content have methanol mixed in too. Which is dangerous.

My daughter and I were at the Hershey outlets, we were in the Disney store so we pumped some of their hand sanitizer. OMG, the minute we put it on it was this horrific smell, I said we have to go wash it off. So we found the bathroom at the outlets and washed good with soap and water. Still the smell lingered. We walked on down to another store, and mentioned it to them and they said they had heard other people say the same thing. Not sure what it was but awful. We noticed a lot of the stores had the same bottle of toxic smelling stuff. I saw a complete stand of it in Boscov's and then the following week the whole stand was gone. I think it was the same stuff.
