Yes, I have sprayed that Poopourie stuff in the garbage can and on the garbage bags. I do use the garbage bags that supposed to prevent odors, do put "smelly" things in a freezer bag. I also keep my garbage cans in the garage.

@CherryHugs I keep my garbage and recycling cans inside my garage until pick-up day also. What I have found that works is a few generous sprays inside of your kitchen garbage bags, especially after smelly foods are placed inside, with Febreeze FABRIC refresher extra strength odor eliminator-not the air refresher. It works WONDERS. You will need to adjust the amount of sprays accordingly. Walmart and Amazon have the best prices.

Double bagging helps as well. You can also spray the inside of the can in your garage with the Febreeze odor eliminator.. If this fails, sprinkle a little kitty litter inside your garbage bag, before bagging it up each time. It's cheap, and does a decent job of neutralizing odors. I hope this helps!😊

~~~All we need is LOVE💖
My dog is a 65 pound lab mix so you can imagine the nauseating aromas I was getting.
I found these bags and have up to 7 days worth of pet waste in my there and I smell absolutely nothing.
I was so impressed with the bags.
Make sure the problem is not from maggots. As we all know flies love trash cans and if you throw away partially eaten pet food they will lay their eggs in that. Happened to us and we had to clean it out with bleach to get rid of them. If it's really bad just ask your trash company to give you a new can that you have maggots you can't get rid of. They don't like the word maggot and will replace it with a brand new can.
eta: I just remembered that my husband told the trash co that there were holes in the can from their mechanical lifting and shaking it out into their trucks and that was the entry for the flies which laid their eggs in it. The mechanical arms did leave punctures in our trash cans......point is, they replaced both of our cans one of which had maggots that we poured bleach in but they came back a week later. None since getting the new cans.
