ARE WE THE ONLY ONES THAT HAVE NOT RECEIVED A STIMULUS CHECK?

DH and I have never received a check. I just wondered if there are still others that haven't yet received theirs. Maybe ours got lost in the process of forwarding our mail. Is there a way to trace it? Our tax guy looked it up for us and it said that a check was mailed 5/22 to our northern address. We have all our mail forwarded down here. It has never shown up. Called the northern post office and they said they were forwarding everything.

I am thinking that we are out of luck.

According to my son, he hasn't gotten one yet either. He doesn't seem interested in digging to find out why either. Not my kid! LOL

Are you aware that some people have been receiving debit cards? The envelopes are nondescript and a lot of people have thrown them away thinking it’s junk mail.

With proof a check was mailed to you (your tax guy).....I would suspect whatever happened - might of happened - when your mail was being forwarded from point A to point B.

Can tax guy or lawyer contact IRS and request a copy of the check(s) if they were cashed?

I just heard there was a delay in some people getting their refunds - but assume that was about April 15 being moved to mid July due to virus.

Sticky fingers have been known to pick up a piece of mail........

Not sure if it is still so but at one time any government checks were not forwarded but returned to the IRS. You may want to check with them.

Maybe you could file a change of address form with the IRS? The IRS website says “However, even when you notify the USPS, not all post offices forward government checks, so you should still notify us.”

I also thought post office can’t forward government checks. I remember it being stated on the envelope not to forward, return to sender.

I haven't received my check either. And the IRS site also shows mine sent same date as yours, May 22 !

Yes, I am , @tucsongal . I open everything. It said that we were mailed a check on 5/22 not a VISA card. Not sure what to think.

If you got divorced and no longer live at the address on your tax return, or if you moved, the process is trickier. Normally, the IRS requires you to submit address changes by mail, however the IRS is not processing paper forms. If you received a paper check, you can notify the post office that services your old address so that it can forward the check (not all post offices forward government checks). Alternatively, you can try to provide direct deposit information using the IRS Get My Payment tool by May 13. Whether the IRS is able to successfully update your information before delivering the payment will depend on timing.

No. My parents are in their 70s and didn't get theirs. My dad called ITS who said because of an IRS error or computer glitch, he was identified as a dependent and no one at the IRS could override the error. He talked to 5 different IRS employees during a 4 Hour phone call and was told he wouldn't get any stimulus this year, but could file tax forms next year to try to claim it. H e reached out to his congressman for help this morning, but hasn't received any response. He said he'd call the senators office tomorrow. My dad has worked his whole life, my mom is mentally disabled. They shouldn't be going through this. I hope this hasn't happened to others.

We haven't received ours either. We do our own taxes...old school. Don't file electronically and they don't have our banking information. Told my DH to check the IRS site.

My son has not received his check either. He has our congresswoman working on it.

The latest email he received said it was referred to some department, I can't remember what it was called, in the IRS. An escalation department.

This has taken months.

Yes, I read about this. I'd look through the link posted above. If that doesn't resolve the issue, do it through next year's tax return.

My mother received a debit card in late May. I haven't received anything yet. I am lax in researching it. I need to get on it though.

I don't think everyone gets one. I didn't get one.

My daughter said my investments made too much money so I won't be getting one.

She takes care of keeping track of gathering up info for the accountants, so she'd know.

Doesn't bother me as long as it goes to the people who deserve it.

I mentioned that we hadn't received our check. He looked into it on his own. I am going to go to the site you recommended and do a little digging LOL. We filed an extension and when we get back up north we will be filing our taxes. If I don't have answers yet, I will have him help us out. Apparently there is a form you can file for this.

@tends2dogs Ours came in a debit card and I almost shredded it thinking that it was just another application for a credit card. You can go online and see about getting a replacement. If you still have your mail, you might want to check. You would never know that what was in that envelope was your stimulus.

I read you would get a letter or email confirming a check had been sent to you. Did you get one? If so, am guessing your check was stolen.
