No masks in my local walmart in PA? the greeter told me suggested not required Not according to what I see on the news.

and masks are not mentioned in their social distancing signs and information at store entrance

Sams club says masks required

local grocery stores says masks required

sign on walmart says a little over a thousand people allowed in store

sign on sams says a little over 400 allowed in store

While on the phone with an acquaintance who is a greeter at the local Walmart, she mentioned that masks are not required to enter the store where she works. She said it appears that about 50% of the shoppers wear one.

I go to my local PA. Walmart on Tues. at 6 a.m. which is senior's hour. As of yesterday, customers and workers were wearing masks. There is a "counter" when you go in and when you leave. I'll have to check with my sister, if I remember, to see what goes on when she goes Sat.

@lovescats @Thanks for posting. I would be reluctant to shop there. People in the stores in my neighborhood do wear masks.

Not mandated but encouraged here. I do wear one at the hairdressers because I do want my hair done. Otherwise I run errands without any face covering. Got an email this morning from the building management where my office is. I am on the 10th floor behind a locked door and they are "encouraging" us to wear masks all day long. I think not.

Fresh Market where I shop has a sign in front that says do not enter store without a face cover. Well yesterday a lady and a teenage boy with her were shopping and neither one had on a mask. I asked one of the store employees if they mandated masks and she said that they couldn't enforce that. So if you don't feel like wearing one you don'thave to.

My hair salon will not let you enter the front door without a mask. An employee is stationed at the front door to take temps. and you will be asked to step outside and place your mask on before entering. And if you try to take it off while having your hair done they will stop the service and escort you out if you refuse to put it on. I appreciate the salon enforcing this requirement.

I'm reluctant to go there too. Because this store is right of the interstate exit which I guess most walmarts are. and had a lot of people

I just got back a little bit ago from picking up my order, in Arkansas and they guy who brought it out and putting it in my cart, was wearing one. Everyone that I saw who was working there was wearing one.

Actually that lady was wrong. Businesses can require and enforce their 'must wear a mask' policies. It is like the 'no shirt, no shoes, no service' thing. They are well within their rights to do it.

What you are seeing is them trying to ride the fence. Post it to keep the mask demanders happy, but don't enforce it to keep the 'masks are a choice' people happy.

If there is anything I hate worse than not being on 'my' side, it's riding the fence on something. Make a stand one way or the other. Masks are mandatory, it's posted and enforced, or it's just recommended. I really don't care which way, but don't pander.

Where I am in PA, masks are required. Some areas in Pennsylvania are rural and people are further apart, and some areas are very populated cities, people living very close together. Me, I always wear a mask when I go outside in public areas, which I only do when I absolutely must.

Today, here in NC we had our highest one day case count, 1,843. I went to the Walmart Supercenter yesterday, I do grocery pickup for most items, but certain things I have to get in store. The past few months the employees wore masks and up until yesterday, I would say half of the shoppers I saw wore masks. I ALWAYS wear one. We are now under a statewide order to wear masks and I'm so glad this finally happened. Yesterday, I saw no one without a mask. The one thing that annoyed me, Walmart has placed markers on the floor directing the flow of traffic so you don't have to pass someone in the aisles, and I can't tell you how many people ignored those. Sigh, I just don't understand why people won't follow directions. I do give props to Walmart, they've really been a lifesaver for me since this whole mess started, from the 2 day delivery and the grocery pickup service, to bringing prescriptions out to your car, I am grateful

I was at Wal-mart early Saturday morning. I'd say 90% of the customers (including myself) and all the employees were wearing masks. This may have still been a senior citizens timeframe and most of the people that fall into that category would probably wear one. It's probably different in the middle of the afternoon.

Masks are mandatory in PA businesses. They are 100% required.

However, many people refuse to wear them. I have seen stores refuse to let people enter without a mask and I have seen stores just ignore people without a mask.

The problem is with enforcement. Employees are not able to enforce the rules without getting hurt or threatened. The police can't be everywhere at once and they are getting grief for tying to enforce this rule.

You should urge your mayor and governor to mandate the use of masks. Everyone AND our economy (its return) depend on people taking this seriously and, sadly, it takes a law and fine to get some people to do the obvious right thing.
