A little background:

My home was a rental from its initial construction to 18 years. When I moved in, I replaced the innards of the toilets since they were the originals. I have those white wooden toilet seats and lids. I imagine that the "blistering" was caused from years of placing WET towels on the lid. The seat was starting to show wear as well, with a few chips from inadvertently being "slammed" down. Today I got the bright idea to change out the lids/seats in both baths. For about $65, I got the "slow close" lid that doesn't slam and seat that snaps off for cleaning. I started with the worse of the two baths and unscrewed the bolts/plastic screws. I was careful in case it didn't fit and I had to re-use the old ones.

Flash forward about THREE hours and my fingers are nearly blistered (bright red tips) and my wrists are throbbing. When BF gets home, I'm going to have him apply those OTC back patches, as I had to contort myself into all sorts of awkward positions just to get the bolts and screws off. I'm definitely going to yoga tomorrow!

What they say is true... the uglier the item the more manpower it takes to remove it!
