Salon locations aren’t licensed the individual hair dresser is. You’d have to find a stylist doing at home appointments. They can do their work anywhere.

I don't think that will happen. It is illegal to do hair in someone's home in most cases and has been for years.

I don't know any hairdresser who would want to risk getting COVID by going into anyone's home and then possibly passing it to somone else.

That is way too dangerous to do during these times. How would anyone know if the the home has been properly sanitized. Salons have access to the proper sanitation supplies, homes do not.

I had a haircut June 12 at a salon. I'm in VA and the salon I was in is really large and has two sides (one side has the shampoo sinks and hair dryers and is mostly used for those that get processes which require sitting under a dryer). They shampooed my hair, the stylist who cut my hair wore a mask and I wore a mask until she cut my hair on the sides and I just unlooped the mask and held it across my mouth while she did the sides and around my ears. Normally I'd get a shampoo/cut/style but I told them to skip the style - I wanted to walk out with my hair wet.

The second I got up from the shampoo chair, a worker came and sprayed it down and cleaned it. The other thing they did - even as far apart as the chairs are, they rotated so they had reduced staff there at any given time.

That's an interesting observation. I would think they should be able to cut hair anywhere.

I wouldn't think they are bound to a salon. My niece was cutting hair during the pandemic going to homes of friends and family. She took precautions wearing masks and gloves. I think it was probably safer for the client as they didn't have to leave their homes. I didn't have a problem with it. Actually years ago my nail tech used to come to my home to do manicures and pedicures. She had a whole "on the go" kit. She also worked in a salon but did this on the side. They do all hold individual licenses and most likely individual insurance too.
