@Dinaki We have a heat pump.....heat in winter....cools house in summer. It came on over the last few days when the house got up to 72 degrees upstairs.....it cools the house to 72 degrees with the warmer temps....and in the winter, warms the house to 68 degrees.

Nice thing about a heat pump is that it keeps our electricity bill really low year round. Much more economical than just a air conditioner and seperate furnace.

In a hot year round climate I imagine you donot need a furnace for heat in the winter?

Yep. Once temps hit about 79 or so, on goes the AC setting. May has been very mild in TN though, so I've had the windows open for the fresh air a lot more than I normally would this time of year.
