Hello my friends! Hope your day went well and you were able to count your blessings! Lori had her Ultra-Sound this morning but we won't know anything for a couple days. Remember around her throat area is so tender she can't wear a necklace, things make her feel like gagging. Sure hope the find will not be serious, and can be corrected without surgery. Lucy - never thought of dehydrating apples, that might work, tomorrow I'm getting at them for sure. Fried apples with cinnamon on is wonderful, too. She heard from Darla that her back is better since the injection, still some pain, but better and that's good news. Last night Lori came here overnight - closer to the place for her ultra-sound, so we had a nice visit with her then. Can you think of one blessing you'd like to tell us? I"m sure there are many, but can you think of one? Praying for all.

Never tell yourself that it is "I" who has done all of this for me.
Lord, I pray and give thanks because it is You who has given me
the abilities and talents that I have to do all that I do.

Scripture for the day:

"Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens,
and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me;
for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your
souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." ~Matthew
11:28-30

Meditation for the day:

Our spiritual life depends upon the unseen. To live the spiritual
life we can believe in the unseen. We can try not to lose the
consciousness of God's spirit in us and in others. As a child in its
mother's arms, we can stay sheltered in the understanding and love of
God. God can relieve us of the weight of worry and care, misery and
depression, want and woe, faintness and heartache, if we will allow
it. We can lift up our eyes from earth's troubles and view the glory
of the unseen God. Each day we can try to see more good in people,
more of the unseen in the seen.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may rest and abide in the presence of the unseen God. I
pray that I may leave my burdens in God's care.

Mother Teresa Said...

"Like Jesus, who submitted Himself to the common law of labor
and the common lot of the poor, we will not seek any special privileges
or treatment for ourselves, but be happy to be treated as one of the poor,
ready to be insulted, ill-treated, refused, blamed falsely,
or put into all kinds of inconveniences.
We shall not seek to defend ourselves,
but leave our defense to the Lord.
We will not worry about tomorrow
but will live the present moment intensely
with complete trust in God."

GOD'S HOLD IS SURE

There were two brethren who differed on the question of the believer's
safety in Christ. They were discussing the question, and one said to the
other:

"I'll tell you, a child of God is safe only so long as he stays in the
lifeboat. He may jump out, and if he jumps out he is lost."
To this the other replied, saying: "You remind me of an incident in my own
life. I took my little son out with me in a boat. I realized, as he did not,
the danger of his falling or even jumping into the water. So I sat with him
all the time, and all the time I held him fast, so he could neither fall out
nor jump out of the boat."

"But," said the first speaker, "He could have wriggled out of his coat and
got away in spite of you."

"Oh," said the other, "you misunderstood me if you supposed I was holding
his coat; I was holding him."

Thank You, God
for Creating Me

Thank You, For creating Me as I AM
Thank You, For feeling my feelings
Thank You, For I found you
Thank You, For your Will
Thank You, For all the joys along life's way
Thank You, For every morning
Thank You, For making me able to serve you
Thank You, For my family
Thank You, For leading me through trials and fears
Thank You, For hope and faith
Thank You, For trust and love
Thank You, For changing my life
Thank You, For saving my soul
Thank You, For creating me whole
Thank You, For being my friend
Thank You, For speaking to me
Thank You, For watching my back
Thank You, For holding my hand
Thank You, For making me strong
Thank You, For creating Everyday Anew
Thank You, For having plan for my Life
Thank You, For hearing my voice
Thank You, For being YOU
Thank You, For accepting me as I AM
Thank You, For taking me under your wing
Thank You, For my friends
Thank You, For coming in peace
Thank You, For keeping me warm
Thank You, For your loving touch
Thank You, For your golden hand
Thank You, For your rays of hope
Thank You, For your sunny smile
Thank You, For my Home
Thank You, For giving me your voice
Thank You, For speaking through me
Thank You, For showing up every time
Thank You, For sharing your heart
Thank You, For allowing me to feel
Thank You, For I AM alive
Thank You, For breathing life in me
Thank You, For making every second count
Thank You, For creating Everyday the begining
Thank You, For Your Blessings

Lord Jesus, give me your peace

Give me confidence in the depths of danger.
Give me hope when I am surrounded by fear.
Still my worries, calm the anxieties pressing in on me from the world I live
in.
Reassure me that you are with me when I seem alone.
Ease my doubting, as you did Thomas'.
Guide my searching for peace,
so that I may not seek it where it is not to be found,
but I may seek it in you.

Lord Jesus, live in me and give me your peace.

Amen

THE SOURCE
By Sally I. Kennedy

Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that
has been made. John 1:3

Sometimes when hiking, we try to take a trail that leads to a
waterfall. I’ve loved each of the few we’ve ever seen. A trickling
peaceful waterfall, tumbling down slippery rocks. One that thunders
and is powerful and majestic. A waterfall that splashes in a swift
current below over time-worn boulders, to meet up downstream with yet
another river.

I’d never seen the source of any of the waterfalls, until this one
particular day. The trail zig-zagged up a wooded hillside, then a
rocky, open area. A sign here and there prodded us onward and upward,
to catch a glimpse of the Top-of-the-Waterfall.

We were rewarded with the most glorious sight, the place where the
waterfall begins. From the waterfalls we’d seen before, we knew of
course that they started somewhere. There was a source, even though we
couldn’t see it.
