Adult thermometer No Touch Forehead

Please help me because evidently I'm STOOPID.

Old ear thermometer died, Looking for new one (along with everyone else). Amazon, Walmart, CVS, etc., etc. sold out.

So I see some promising brands advertised on MSN {Brii} and another on "20 Best Thermometers" on Google named "Thermocare". Both take you to a site to order, but if you Google those names to find the so-called manufacturer or ratings, I get a lot of nothing.

What's the deal??? Can anyone recommend a thermometer (thats available) to buy??

You can not be stoopid if you were smart enough to see they were taking you to odd places.

No suggestions since I don't have one, but just keep to well known sites.

Wouldn't a no-touch thermometer be difficult to use on oneself?

My sister has the ihealth no touch thermometer. It vibrates when done and it’s very easy to use.

When I went to my oncologist they were using a no touch thermometer to take everyone's temperature as soon as they walked in the door. It was a cold day in March & they were NOT getting an accurate reading. Everyone's was low. This could be a downside but probably not a problem if the person has been inside. I have one that you touch to the temple & really like it. It's called ReliOn. I wipe it down with an alcohol wipe when finished. Good Luck

@suzykee that sounds like the type I would prefer. I currently use a digital under the tongue model, but I would rather have an instant read one. Even with under the tongue I'm low. Normal for me is like 97.4. At 97.7 I can tell I have a fever. Guess I'm real sensitive to it.

I've seen an ear thermometer at Wal-Mart for fifty dollars if you want to replace yours. There were empty places on the same shelf which I guess had other types. I saw prices of eighty or ninety dollars or more. I'm happy with one of the inexpensive digital thermometers that you put under your tongue for about forty-five seconds or less. They beep when your temperature number stops. Mine is accurate because it matches the reading a fancier model which my doctor uses. I wouldn't order a thermometer that I consider expensive and definitely not from an unknown vendor, but that's just me.

The only one I’ve seen and bought is for the ear 👂 and found it at Walmart in the baby department. Other types have not been restocked.

I had ordered from Wyze an ihealth no touch thermometer and received it just the other day. Its GREAT. Very easy to use! I don't understand the comment about using a no touch thermometer on yourself? Why not? Aim it at my forehead and boom, done. Easy.

The last two mercury thermometers I had, I broke when I went to shake them down and they slipped out of my fingers because I was weak from running a temp over 20 years ago. Two separate occasions.

I then got a digital that was near expiration on the battery, but it ran for a good 3 years before it quit. The next digitals I got either never worked, or only lasted a few months.

I worked at a podiatrist's office at the time, and the girls never felt like the new thermometers were working right. They seemed to read low on everyone. We had always been taught that average was 98.6, and my own normal temp was always that. I could tell I was running a temp at 99 and feeling chilled.

The frustration with thermometers went on for years at the office.

I presently don't have one and would really prefer to go back to a mercury one. I don't trust the ones on amazon, so many bad reviews! But it is on my list of things I was not able to find during this pandemic and which is very much needed.
