My daughter's dog is so happy she is home all the time. The spring in his step is something to behold. We facetime a lot and I get such a kick out of his frolicking around.

My cats are expressing a different viewpoint. One of two cats is pretty mellow so I don't think it affects him. The only problem is he expects to eat every time I go into the kitchen.

The other cat? He's expressed his displeasure in the change of his routine. Knocking everything off my dresser, trying to push my bedroom TV over......he's a mess!

I would think most dogs at this point are thinking - enough with the walks already! Just let me sleep. My sister said her dog gives her a dirty look and the cold shoulder everytime she approaches him with his leash; which I am guessing is several times a day!

@SunSprite Your one cat sounds like a handful. 😄 I leave my cat's dry food out all day. Unlike dogs, cats are grazers - they eat small amounts throughout the day. This should end his asking for food every time you enter the kitchen. 🙂 Worth a try.

This isn't true of ALL cats.....my cats dont like it when I work at home, which is most of the time, unless their treat bowl is empty....BUT my sister's cat is a different story......HE LOVES LOVES LOVES that my sister is home....he loves to cuddle and play....and he's an only cat (because he has a medical condition she cant get another cat)......so when she goes to work or leaves the house he sits at the door and CRIES AND CRIES!!!!

My beagle is thrilled to have us at home. She's gaining more weight than I am, getting treats at every turn. Last night, Bill Maher said it's time to tell our dogs that there will come a time when we'll be leaving the house. He said we can tell them, à la Seinfeld. "It's not you. It's me."

At the end of a meeting last week, we were catching up on how everyone is doing. One person said the neighbor's daughter is home from college, and every time she sees her, she's walking the dog. She said that dog is going to weigh 5 pounds when it's all over!

Although I share my home with cats and love them, I also loved my Beagle...she was such a sweet dog!

Both my kitties are okay with me being home. But, then, I'm retired so there's not much difference to them!

One of them follows me EVERYWHERE. That is, unless he's under the covers of my bed. But, once he gets up, there he is following me. If only he wasn't SO cute...
