I LOVE my cat.I just wish she'd let me sleep!

She is a rescue (don't know if that's relevant) and is ALWAYS hungry.

We "free-fed" her as the vet told us,for the first year.Who knew she was a bottomless pit!! At her 1 year checkup she was 12 lbs,and the vet said she should be no more that 9lbs....

Now she is on "diet" cat food. !/4 cup in the am.,and 1/4 in the pm. Too bad she downs it in like 20 seconds and begs for more!

She can't make it til morning without pouncing on me,knocking things off my nitestand...anything to get my attention to get up and feed her.

Already I slip her a few kibbles here and there thru-out the day,because it I get anywhere NEAR the laundryroom,where her food bowl is,she meows,pitifully.

I want so bad to just let her eat and be happy.....but I don't want her to have health issues from being overweight.

What to do.....what to do!!!???
