Made my first order through Instacart

And I feel a whole lot better. I was dreading going to the supermarket after that last visit which was so unpleasant. At least I know there is food coming! I have the app. so I'll be able to track it. Earlier I tried once again to get through Amazon Fresh. I almost cried. Nothing was available I watched my order disintegrate because they didn't have it in stock. Of course Amazon is free delivery charge. Not Instacart. I will see if I like it. I might enter membership. Th deliver fee was a little high because I used 2 supermarkets (Wegmans & Giant) I love Wegmans to begin with so I'm hopeful. I just could not face that other supermarket tomorrow!

My day was terrible. We had technical issues with the computer today and I could not contact my boss. The worry over food hung over me..... I finally got up and vacuumed the place. I have not been outside in 2 weeks. Then the water pipe (under the kitchen sink) broke!!! My husband says he can fix it. So he ordered parts from Amazon. Yeah right.

The bing problem with Instacart is that the jack up store prices. My Publix list is just sitting in my cart because the item prices are so much higher than in the store. When I was filling my cart at Amazon Fresh the total was far, far below my Publix with Instacart total.

Don't you people have Walmart stores? I picked up a load of groceries last Thursday. Free. No inflated prices.

@Mindy D @Kachina624 i am SO FURIOUS at amazon, & that stupid nearby supermarket. I was work at home one the stupid computer, crying because I had no place to get food!! Eggs, bread, milk! Then my connection to work was lost & I just turned it off. So today I did not work.. I was going to find food, if it killed me. I bravely ordered from Insacart. I don't care what they do to me. I just got an email message saying that my requests will be delivered tomorrow!! Food, beautiful food (running through my head) Per Walmart. Our Walmart is pretty horrible. Won't step foot in there. I also checked out their delivery. Lots of things I want, they won't deliver.

@Mindy D, I justed tested this by looking at my market on Instacart and the market's own site, and guess what.

@suzyQ3 @Kachina624 @Mindy D Wegmans is just as high (I wish I had a Publix) But i love better supermarkets, theirvariety, etc. So I ordered the basics from a cheapo (Giants) and upscale (Wegmans) I won't eat food from Walmart, bottem line. I hate the store, the service and they won't deliver everything I want.

@songbird You don't have to set foot in Walmart. You do your order online, go in at midnight and select a pick up time and go get it from a designated place in the parking lot. They bring it out and put it in your car. I've been doing this for 3 years and love it. You don't have to get out of your car.

I hope you get your groceries with no hitch. Somebody yesterday said they didn't show up with hers. There was wide-spread publicity about their workers wanting extra tips and incentives as well as sanitizer, gloves etc. And they were going to strike.

Some Instacart workers are on strike. But they say they are hiring and I would guess some of their employees can't afford to strike or don't want to.

I used Instacart when my car battery died and I had no money to replace it right away, and once when I was sick and needed medicines. Both times were fine. But at this time, when stores are out of so many items, I prefer to go and do my own shopping. It's easier then.

I have been using Instacart since I have been quarantined at home. I am not going to movies, out to dinner or lunch, plays, exercise classes, etc. so I figure I can pay a little more for food.

I read that Instacart is an Uber service for food delivery. They hire them quickly! They are nationwide, so they have to be.

FYI Does anyone use Shipt? It is like Instacart. My cousin just went to work for them. She shops and deliver the items. Has no contact with customers. She takes a picture ior texts if a substitution is needed.

She had over 48 customers last week and made $$$$! Her customers have been very happy with this service. She said "not bad for a side hustle". BTW She has a medical job that shut down.

Amazon technically has the most food, sitting in warehouses. But, they are not nationwide yet. Ever since the virus, its been near impossible to order anything from them. The company as been besotted with orders. They will have to change their system if the go nationwide. Like instacart.

Oopes Instacart means business. The food might come earlier this evening.... Just received a text

Yes. That was was my other option. I will check it out if Instacart fizzzles.

OK folks. Instacart just arrived!!!!! Supposed to be tomorrow, but they are coming now!
