I'm Getting Very Little Mail These Days

There sure has been a drop in the amount of mail I usually get since this virus hit the U.S. I'm not quite sure why. Shortage of people working at the P.O. perhaps if employees are quarantined due to virus exposure (and thus normal loads not being delivered each day)? Postal workers out sick (hope not)? Fewer advertisements being sent out? I don't know why.

Is everyone else noticing they aren't getting as much mail?

Wow that's all very interesting; glad I asked. Maybe it's some issue in my particular city, although I haven't seen any news stories about it. I have been receiving my packages thus far -- nothing is missing there. It's just the other mail that has been so light. Hmmmm.

Just put some mail (bills) in my mailbox. I usually go to the post officer to mail them.

I added a sticky note "Thank you. Stay safe". I don't know if they have gloves.

I feel like I, too, have been getting less mail than normal but this has been going on for a while here.

One frustration is that some weekly magazines are clustered. I got three of one weekly mag last week, two on one day and the third two days later. I feel like maybe the person is taking them home to read them , then delivering them down the road. This is NOT based on any evidence other than the frequency with which they've been received, but I don't know what else to think.

Some weeks I might only get ANY mail 3-4 days out of the 6.

@proudlyfromNJ, no, no not junk mail. That is the only mail that doesn't raid my checking account unless I want it to.

@Pearlee Getting all the "good" mail as usual, and for that I'm grateful.

Getting far less junk mail - and for that I'm even more grateful! don't really care why, but I think plentry of businesses will be conserving their funds for a few months.

I like when I don't get much mail, eapecially when I don't get bills! I noticed on Saturdays and right before a holiday, my mail carrier goes out with very little mail.

I figured there would be less mail because the non-essential businesses that mail to me aren't open. Maybe no one is going to the office to mail things? Maybe the catalogs & flyers aren't getting printed? I'm sure businesses are still doing billing & stuff but I'll bet overall mail volume is at an all-time low. No one knows how long this will last so they're not sending advertisements for events & things.

I notice I am not getting the grocery and store ad's like I normally would. I guess they are trying to save a little money so that's good.
