I can't imagine how frustrating it is for them to get their message across for the upteenth time.

Along that same line, a Palm Beach Post writer yesterday used his column (almost always political and almost always satire) to beg for Italian mayor-type administrators for our area. I didn't note the date of the post- winder if he saw that before he wrote his piece?

BTW- he is first-generation Italian himself

I saw this early this morning while I was having my coffee and immediately fell in love with each of these men.

My grandparents came from Scicily as teens -- their marrige was somewhat "arranged." They lived in Brooklyn, and we would visit every summer.

Hearing them speak to each other is one of my favorite memories. Even when they were angry and yelling, it was like music.

Such a beautiful language....such sadness for a wonderful people and country.

I live in Italy part of the year and my heart breaks for these wonderful people. But, speaking of Mayors, the Mayor of Rimini who is 101 was discharged from the hospital after treatment for Covid19. Amongst such tragedy comes a little ray of hope.

I love the 'stories'. I don't know which was funnier. I can relate to the story of jogger with the visibly exhausted dog. I need to walk every day so I can understand the jogging.

@Cookie2025 I don't think it was included in these clips but one mayor wanted to know why everyone had become an Olympian all of the sudden. "I know you. You haven't had a run since primary school." 😂

This is so funny.......I, too, am Italian and completely understand how they talk. It's normal to me!

@Witchy Woman I am a first generation Italian/American. My Dad came from southern Italy. Yes, they did yell a lot, but always ended up w/a smile. Love our people.

@Laura14 Oh, I know! It was hysterical when they would all yell. But, as I said in another post, it all ended w/a smile and laughter. Some people just don't understand our humor!

During Gov. Cuomo's Sunday daily press briefing, he described his Italian family's Sunday dinner gathering. It was wonderful to hear his description of his childhood experience surrounding this time. His words give me comfort and hope, hard things to come by lately.

Some of the men in that clip reminded me of Sophia Loren in the movies Marriage Italian Style & Divorce Italian Style. Italian females know how to give a "beat down" w/their (Italian) words. As a non-Italian I didn't understand a word she said, but I knew exactly what she meant.

Love it. I lived in a predominantly Italian and Greek neighborhood in Queens, NY for almost 20 years and grew up with a lot of kids from Italian families on Long Island. This was funny stuff here. And I totally get it.

Doesn't remind me of the OP, however.
