I Hate Working from Home!!!!

It could work if all of my colleagues were responsive to online communications.....our execs are the absolute worst! We are supposed to be available to them anytime, but send them an email with something you really need from them? Forget about it! Soooo much stress! Anybody else hate working from home?

I worked at home for 16 years and at times popped were very difficult to find

@Goldengate8361 my sister loves it. She in charge of a group and just listening to them talking back and forth to each other and really working and I know it has a lot to do with the respect they have for each other and mostly for her. She treats them very well and the fact that the company starts them at over 60,000 a year and most of them have been there for years, that helps.

I have a makeshift setup for the time being and I'm not used to it.

I love working from home. I'm getting more answers than if I was at work. My only problem is I'm working too many hours. I can't leave at 4 or 5 and leave it behind. I'm on the critical list, but don't have to go in like a handful of others. I just have to drop everything to work on something hot.

I probably won’t mind it - May even get more work done as my coworker takes up much of my day on her personal issues (literally just her and me and she’s senior to me.) But, today was day one and needed to take “off” to take care of a family emergency. Got a little bit done tonight...only to have my printer stop working!! Ugh. I had it for years and never used. Was working perfectly fine - just needed new ink. And then it just stopped- won’t turn on. Will try different outlets around the house.

THIS is me! But I will say it's so much harder and takes me 3 times longer to do things at home than in my office! It is frustrating.

@GCR18 my sister would tell her group to shut down their computers at a certain time but she will continue working. They all love working with her.

I love it! Given your frustrations, I can see why why you hate it! I wonder if you could phrase your emails such that your colleagues understand what is at stake and the implications of delay? Can you CC your manager or other stakeholders, to add muscle to it? That's what I would do... HTH.

My son in law hates working at home too. I say be glad youre working from home. My husband was just called back to work during this when his compamy sued to RE open after being shut down by the governor. I am terrified of this virus!

I've been working from home full-time fo the past 5 years so it's nothing new to me. I still keep "standard" work hours. I don't have to be available "anytime". I love working from home. I generally only go into the office 1x/week max, but now it's obviously not at all for a while. Many of our employees like working from the office because of the social interaction. I say Pfft to that!

If I dont' get an email response, I go to IM (instant messaging), or pick up the phone & call. We have VOIP so our calls come through Skype or WebEx.

I, for one, would be devastated if I ever had to go back to the office full-time. I'm exponentially more productive working from home.

My trick for getting what I need when I need it is to put exactly what I'm requesting as the subject line of the email, then two dashes -- and then "Due: "and the date I need it. Or "Requested by:" and the date I need it. That way, whenever they look at their inbox they see my request and the deadline.

@Goldengate8361 I have been working from home for almost 2 years. I am not a fan of working at home.

My management team is unresponsive. We were told from our first day to not ask questions.

If we had a question they have a form you have to complete. It is lengthy and time consuming.

Two weeks ago they said we can no longer use that option either.

My coworkers are all too busy to help. Most of the claims adjusters get paid per claim.

I have been in this industry my entire career and I have never seen a company unwilling to help their employees suceed.

As soon as an oppurtunity presents itself to work for another company I will move on. Unless it is work from home.

This is the most stressful job I have ever had. They set you up to fail. If I did not need health insurance I would call it a day.

My last day working in the office was March 12th. I agree it can be frustrating; our organization has so many working remotely now that connecting with our network is hit or miss---way too much traffic trying to remote in.

I try really hard not to complain about it though because I wasn't able to get all of my team approved to work from home. I'm still working on that, and there is a call in meeting this morning so I'm praying it is about to happen....I am so worried about those that are still going in daily. They are frightened, they want to be working remotely, and it is just not fair frankly that they aren't. It has been a source of great anger for me, and has just about consumed me. So I'm praying each day, that day is the day.

I love working from home. I save myself 3 hours per day of driving and the anxiety associated with it. Also the open "collaborative" work environments that are in these days are the worst. No privacy and you hear everyone's conversations.

What I don't like is having all the kids home for an extended time while I'm trying to work.

My husband is an international manager for a radiation therapy company and has worked from home for several years- I love being at home with him and he never complains cause he stays so darn busy.. 24/7 but he's been with the company just over 40yrs.
