Question re free exchanges at Q

Is it just me, or are any of you having issues with this policy . Almost every time I order pants, specifically, I have a problem. Again I just ordered a pair, petite small, I'm 5'1, ok, I love them, but they are too short! Like ankle length, they're the wide leg type, and supposed to hit at the floor, but either someone bought them and shrunk them, or they're just defective, no idea. Anyway I called to let them know I was exchanging them and why. That I wanted a regular, small, the petite are way to short. I was told, that I have to return them and reorder them, different item number? Well they're the same darn pants, why am I going to be charged 7.00 for shipping, 3:50 each pair, and 7:00 for return shipping? They aren't the same pants, because of the length, they have different item numbers. I'm done with the nonessence with them. That goes agent everything they say on every item, free exchanges for ANY reason. Well I have a reason, but they have bad business practices. Thanks for listening to my rant. Stay healthy and safe!

the item numbers HAVE to be the same in order to do a free exchange.

if you are exchanging a petite for a regular (or vice versa), they usually have different item numbers.

@curled up in bed Did you measure the inseam to determine if it was not what it's supposed to be? Do you know how to find the actual measurements? If it is shorter than listed, you can return it as defective and not be charged s&h.

The same thing happened to me with a pair of NYDJ jeans. I wanted a different wash color, but since it was a different item #, they (CS) would only exchange for a smaller size. It just the way it is and I am fine with this.
