My son in law is a branch bank manager and has to be at work every day. He says people are in the bank coughing and for no good reason. One customer said he had just got back from giving Communion at a VA hospital! Good grief. Sick eldery men.

Leave the ATM and drive ups open... an 800 number for specific help. My daughter is asthmatic and I worry about him bringing the virus to her. Like there isn't enough to stress about.

This is for the Governor to set out the guidelines. Banks should be open with ATM stocked and phone for appts. for loans, questions, etc.

That sounds extreme but it makes decisions actually easier about who to see.

They stress it is more about protecting others than ourselves.

Really unprecedented the things we are all having to do.

So probably your son should not be near your daughter.

Our bank just sent a note that if a particular branch has a drive up window, the lobby will be closed and only the drive up window will be open

I understand your concern. My neighbor who lives above me works in a bank. Her husband is now working from home. We have separate entrances but also one common entrance that leads to both residences. I cringe every time she uses the common entrance as I am over 60 and have asthma, Over the weekend, they had a family gathering, I am guessing about 10-20 people attended and most of them used the common entrance..I just about went crazy spraying the common hall and entryway door and handles with Lysol and wiping down the walls. They are young and I guess fearless. But it worries me.

The banks I have been dealing with sent e-mails asking you to use the drive up. ATM, telephone or online banking. A lot of our older community have no access to computers or know how to use one but the only thing I can think of not using one of the options listed above would be if something was needed from a safety deposit box or had to sign papers for something.

Another good reason for all banks to close lobbies and only offer drive thru banking is because my son in law, who works for the FBI in our area, agents in their office have been sent home for at least the next 2 weeks (they were not knowingly exposed to the virus, nor have any symptoms).

Perfect time to rob a bank.....

I went throught the drive-thru on Monday because I wanted to have some cash on hand at this unpredictable time. I would not have gone into the bank.

We received an e-mail from Capital One stating any of their branches that did not have glass barriers at the teller windows would be closed. Drive thru and ATMs will still be open.

It's ridiculous. Just about everything can be done online. He said they dropped them off some Lysol today. Big deal. Just waiting for the first case. Just down the road there is a a Nursing Home with 22 cases. So it's in the area.

My credit union sent an e-mail that the lobby would be open by appointment only. Otherwise use the drive through or ATM.

My bank does not have drive thru windows and I can't even think where there is any bank with drive thrus within my city or the city next to us. Inside the bank, the tellers have a window barrier, but has for about 3 years. The bank is still open, but encourages online banking as much as possible.

It is always a good idea to have cash on hand in case of a disaster or emergency.

A good definition of worrying is "vividly and emotionally picturing life as you DON'T want it to happen".

Personally, I see no point in worrying about something that hasn't happened. But, that's JMO

In my area people use ATMs at their own risk. The machines outside the actual banks, for example at the stores or inside booths, are not safe from crooks trying to steal your money. I would never go to one of those alone.

I went to my bank this afternoon in person (no drive thru at this location). Business as usual except for shorter hours. On my way now to Ulta to return something before stores close down tomorrow.

I was pleased to know that my credit union closed it's lobbies a couple of days ago. Most banking can be done from home (phone or internet) or an ATM access. Nipping this in the bud is so important!

My neighbor works for First Community Bank call center. Her job is very secure compared to many Americans.

This can be true in some areas. My Walreen's, just around the corner, has an ATM for my credit union inside of the store. This sets up a much more secure system of money withdrawal.
