topic Question About Planner/Calendars in Community Chat

I used a Daytimer for years, and then went over to keeping everything on my iPhone. My question is, if you use(d) paper planners, is there any reason to keep the planners from previous years? I want to get rid of mine, but I read somewhere that you should keep them. I did a Google search, but couldn't find an answer.
