Macys was still open they said, reporter said some were eating, no wonder the governor,and mayor, are frustrated.

Why not?? I'm here in Chicago and it is a beautiful day weather-wise. I was out for a walk to CVS and the supermarket--not out of any great need but just to get out of the condo for some exercise.

Very few people on the streets and very little traffic. Easy to keep a "social distance."

I can see going out for a walk, going to grocery store, but not going to macys, eating out.

It's perfectly fine to walk around and eat outside, ride a bike. It's good to get out, especially in nature.

Even if you are self-isolated you are allowed to go out for a walk or a bike ride.

The point is to avoid close contact.

People are allowed to get some exercise outdoors but any food has to be take out ....at least that is what our Mayor said. Hope that helps..

With regard to NYC, this is alarming to me and here's why: hospitals are running short of precious supplies that healthcare professionals NEED to keep themselves safe while they attend to Covid positive patients. The whole point of social distancing is not so you can't enjoy yourselves. It's to hold the line on new infections in order to NOT swamp our hospitals with new cases that can't be accomodated with the supplies we now have.

There are not enough beds, not enough N95 masks, not enough gloves, not enough sanitizer. And most importantly, not enough respirators AND not enough TESTS for healthcare personel so they can be tested to be sure they haven't been exposed.

This has been on the news for days. How frustrating that there are still folks who aren't taking this seriously.

I live in a residential neighborhood on the East Side of Manhattan.

I had some things to do this morning and I was out from about 10 am until Noon. Made a couple of stops, including the supermarket.

About Noon the sun came out and it's partly sunny now.

Life goes on ....
