the virus that comes from china has spread tons in the nothern hemishere but not in the southern hemispere. i looked it up on the cdc map of confirned cases and there were none for south america and only some for africa and then only in the northern most part.

My suspicious mind keeps wondering if this was contrived for some reason. Our economy us certainly taking a huge hit. Sadly, nothing would surprise me.

on the nws, i had heard that it was a bio weapon made in china that some how got away from them. but that is just hearsay

What I find interesting is that most of the victims of this strange virus outside of China recover. There are very few fatalities outside of the demographic that usually succumbs to illnesses: the very old, the very young and those with compromised immune systems. In contrast, China seems to have a very high mortality rate but the Chinese government is not saying what type of people are succumbing to this disease. Anyway, keep it in perspective. There are over 6 BILLION people on this planet. There are only a few thousand cases, most in China. So, don't worry about it. Just take the normal precautions like you take about any other contagious illness.

People are not respecting rules and precautions intended to contain it. There are always some who think the rules don't apply to them.

I have been thinking of ordering masks for a couple of weeks now. Looking at the big A store. I noticed the prices have continually gone up every couple days so I took the plunge. I was thinking if the virus does start really moving here there might be a shortage.

I literally laughed out loud at the thoughts of conspiracies with the coronovirus outbreaks only in the "northern hemisphere." That's actually not true, there are outbreaks in India, Austrailia, Thailand, etc.

It is only a matter of time when cases in other countries get identified.

I don't adhere to any wild conspiracies regarding this virus. Most of the time, a cigar is just a cigar. And it isn't as experts haven't warned about such health crises.

Try not to look at everything through a negative prism. It's not good for you. :-)

As for being worried more about the stock market, I would gladly trade my money for the lives being lost. Our investments can't compensate for that.

@patbz I agree with what you said but looking at what we have lost in the last few days was enough to make my head spin....it takes longer to make it back than it does to lose it.

From what I have been reading the person-to-person transmission through droplets from sneezing, etc. stay more airborne in colder weather so are spread more easily. Plus people are in more crowded conditions in colder weather.

The droplets fall to the ground easier in warmer weather.

That's all I read but it makes sense?

@Mom2Dogs I'm glad I made the decision to move one investment from being uninsured to being insured. It took almost 15 years to build it back after the last loss.
My financial advisor said it needed to be done. I did it due to the Coronavirus spreading just a few weeks ago. Now I wish I had moved more!
I'm afraid that when the virus spreads to Africa and South America it will spread like wildfire!

The virus has to first be carried by a human to arrive to different places around the globe.

One infected human can bring problems to many, many others,

( a super spreader) as for an example how British citizens became infected in a French ski resort because a man in the group had previously traveled to Singapore and caught the disease.

Doctors are still not sure if the virus can exist on hard surfaces for days and be caught that way.

Conspiracy theories of any kind are totally ridiculous.

Diseases have existed since the beginning of time.

As the CDC stated, it is only a matter of time before it spreads.

The most important thing is if we can create an effective vaccine, since we still cannot conquer the common cold or flu.

my daughter works in a health care facility. they are completely out of masks and gowns. the company is a large health care company. they are not even sure when more will be coming because they are all from china.

right now they are having no visitors because residents and a lot of the staff are out with an intestinal virus has been going around the past two weeks.
