Dreams Are Weird

Okay, my dreams are weird.

Take for my dream last night for example.

I dreamt that I got up in the middle of the night and went out in to the kitchen, and when I looked out the dinning room window at my detached garage, I noticed that the door was open and someone with a flashlight was inside my garage.

I went out on to my back deck to holler at the (something that I would NEVER do in real waking life) I noticed that the person had turn my back light off.

I turned the light back on, and when I went to yell at them, no sound would come out.

I tried again, but still, no sound.

It was like my vocal cords were paralyzed.

Then I woke up.

What I think happened was, I was in sleep paralysis, and not only was my body paralysed, so were my vocal cords, for real.

I think the body, or at least my body does that because if I were to yell in my dream, I would be yelling for real in my sleep.

I usually don't try to figure out the "hidden meanings" of my dreams.

I just think of them as weird little adventures that my subconscious takes me on when I'm asleep.

I had a similar dream experience a few weeks ago, except mine was I wasn't able to open my eyes. It felt so real. I can't remember what the dream was about now, other than that it was important to see something that was in my way, just that horrible feeling of not being able to get my eyes open no matter how hard I tried. It was such a relief when I woke up.

Not the first time I've had this dream, but I sure hope it's the last.

Also, in my dreams, when I run, I run on all fours, like an animal, and not upright like normal.

Weird.

I think the weirdest dreams that I have had...The ones I hate the most is when I am wrapping hair in end papers and rolling it in perm rods.

I have had some pretty vivid dreams...mostly good, but when I wrap hair all night, I wake up exhausted.

@Anonymous032819I have wierd dreams like that once in awhile. One time I had a dream that a gorilla was chasing me and we kept running around a kitchen table, when I got tired we would both stop and rest and then start the chase all over again. I have no idea where that dream stemmed from !!!!

Dreams of falling are fun! I dreamed I was being chased and there was a cliff. I thought"this is a dream I can run off and just fly". WRONG! I fell then I woke up.

Funny you mention dreams, last night I had a dream that was so vivid...Blake Shelton was kissing me on the shoulder !🤣 Where in the world that came from is beyond me, I haven’t been thinking about Blake Shelton at all. Crazy !

It is strange how some of us dream like this. I have some that I cannot understand for the life of me. I did have that same experience of not being able to open my eyes but I was coming out of anesthesia at the time and my eyes were taped closed. Still a frightening episode and I have never forgotten that, I believe I was about 22 at the time. It seems if you're scared in a dream you can never get your vocal chords to work. I wonder sometimes about those books on meanings of dreams and if they have any validity at all?

Though I might be afraid to read them! LOL

When i am sick ,i have the long detailed dreams, last night i kept waking up,thinking stop dreaming,but back to sleep and it continued.It had those that i love ,no longer here ,quite a few.

I've also had the dream where I was trying to scream and nothing came out.

I remember a dream I had when I was a teenager and sharing my room with 2 younger sisters. This time I did manage to get a shout out.

I dreamed I was in the bathroom on the toilet, and someone kept opening the door, just a crack. I said "shut the door", but they kept opening it.

Finally I yelled, "SHUT THE DOOR!" as loud as I could. But all that was vocalized was "SHUT!"

The next morning I could hear my sisters talking, "Did you hear her yell last night? It sounded like she said "shut!"
