I am blessed

On Tuesday morning while taking my 3 mile walk,I was hit by a car.I had the red light looked both ways and and back to my right again. As I was in the middle of the cross walk,I was hit by a car and roll off the hood. The car slow down but did not stop.I crawl out the street to the sidewalk.A passing car stop to assit,while bleeding from the head,I manage to call my son. The good Samaritan call the ambulance. My son,the cops and the ambulance arrived at the same time.

I kept saying I was find,blood flowing from my head and my right knee was crushed.I had emergency surgery.I was home on Thursday evening. The nursing staff was amazed that I was up and walking(with a Walker and a physical therapist. They stated that I am recovering faster due to my physical and mental health. A homecare nurse will becoming on Monday. My son and my sweet daughter in law(who has a masters degree in nursing have assisted me in my recovery.

I am blessed.

Oh my, what a horror out of the blue. There is a lot of that spread around these days (at least among those I know), and I am sorry you were so severely injured. I am pleased that you are mending quickly, and you are, indeed, blessed. Not the least of your blessings is a daughter-in-law with a master's in nursing.

@GRACIE OMGosh! So So sorry this happened to you... and you were doing everything right and careful...

that person was probably high... and or Texting... with warrents for their arrest and thus kept going... I hope that they can catch him somehow. Such a terrible person to leave you there.

@GRACIE What an awful thing to happen to you. You are indeed blessed and lucky to have such good care after. It's unbelievable that someone would hit you and not stop and just keep driving. They will get their due - sooner or later.

You are very fortunate that someone else didn't come along and run over you and you were able to get off the road and not lose consciousness. I hear on the news all the time how people hit others and just keep driving, but usually it's the poor victim's family asking for help in finding out who killed their loved one.

Someone above was looking out for you - hoping you have a speedy recovery and are feeling better real soon.

@GRACIE I am so sorry you had to endure that. A nice walk turns into that horror. Will focus on your recovery and not my anger at the driver.

The car was dark gray. Model and make I am uncertain,it look new.The Driver slowed down,but never came to complete stop.The car will have damage on the driver side hood.

I had the good sense to crawl on the other side,because I could have been hit again.Thanks everyone for your kind words and support. My stubness this time is a good thing😃 . I am in survival mode,while the pain is unbearable at times, my faith,family and friends and therapy will pull me thru. Thanks eyeryone.😅😅😃.

I agree you are very much blessed, @GRACIE. You are grateful for all the people who helped you. Just one person made a series of bad decisions that caused you to get hurt. But a giant team of people who care responded and helped you immediately. Always look for the people who rush to help. All of us together are the vast majority.
