I got one UPS delivery sometime during the night right before Christmas Day. I was expecting the delivery that day and checked my porch about 11pm and it still hadn’t come. Went to bed and DH found it on the front porch around 6 am the next morning when he went out to get his newspaper. When I sign up to be notified of delivery, it is hit or miss.

7:57 pm and poor UPS guy just delivered a package. Used a flashlight to walk up to my door. Geez, I thought now that Christmas is over they'd be home in their jammies this time of the evening.

I'm probably in the minority but, yes, I'd rather have my delivery a date later, rather than some poor guy delivering it in the dark. I'm so rural, I'd be surprised if he could find my drive at night, let alone negotiate my very long drive. No street lights here of any kind!

We had a snowstorm this past week and I'd gone out to plow my drive around 10:00 the next morning. We'd gotten about 10 inches of snow and it was still snowing, but easing off.

To my amazement up my 710-foot drive came a FedEx van! I told him I couldn't believe he'd driven up through that and he said the vans were really good in the snow. And then proceeded to almost get stuck in front of my plow truck!

We were able to get his van over far enough for me to plow around him and then down the drive, so he could get back out. I had to give him credit for getting the job done, but I'd rather these drivers stay safe in storms.

I don’t like pkgs sitting out all night...there are still porch pirates seizing the opportunity to take whatever they see the trucks drop off...camera don’t catch a lot of them...and even if they do, without a license number or a clear facial image most of them still go about their stealing unfazed.

I have had UPS pkgs delivered and retrieved them immediately, only to have my text notification sent several hours later. I think some drivers stop and take the time to send the texts all at the same time after making several deliveries or emptying their trucks. Most of my UPS orders were handed off to USPS after shipment so that was my biggest frustration. Our mail doesn’t get here until 8-9pm now that our regular guy retired. It is now an endless line of subs who are rookies. Our post office is a training location so we are at their mercy. Some days there is no mail delivered at all.
