topic Amish Mafia.....Really? in Community Chat

Between last season and what little I've seen this season, I have a hard time believing that these "thugs" (and I use the term loosely, I'm more afraid of my elderly mother) are really getting away with the things they are doing to the "english" in these shows. Breaking someones camera who is taking pictures of the Amish, trashing someones vehicle, destroying their produce stand, etc.

I would suppose if the "english" are involved in things that they would rather not have the law know about, maybe they would just go away and say nothing, but you can't tell me that the "Amish mafia" is getting away with this. It even looks fake on TV.

I live in an Amish community, a very strict, old order, and there is more than meets the eye going on in their communities, and they aren't always what they are portrayed in the media and literature about them. They tend to be like all cultures, with the good, the bad and everything in between. I think they may get away with pushing their own people around for money etc. because the bishops rule with a tight grip, but I find it hard to believe what this show wants us to about how they run over outsiders.

Anyone else have an opinion on this?
