What do you think of ...

the saying that was on one of the recent TSV tops? It said, "Girl, Wash Your Face." I thought it was great. IMO it meant that girls/women are beautiful inside and out. Something like we don't need makeup to show our inner beauty and that we're all beautiful on the outside, too. Maybe, it's even that we should show our strengths. Positive support. I admit that I didn't listen to the presentations on that TSV top, but the saying I saw stuck with me. What did you think of the saying?

Depends on how it was said and how it was received. If the meaning is " let you inner beauty shine, you don't need all that make-up"...then I'm all for it. But I understand there could be some controversy with this comment.

I read somewhere it means to toughen up, and take a good hard look in the mirror and face your fears. I have no idea if that's the case.

I do not like being addressed as "Girl". That's an automatic no sale for me no matter what follows.

@Desert Lily , IMO, it means if you wear this you'll be doing free advertising for her book, of the same name.

I don’t buy anything with those saying plastered on my clothing.

I don’t think it’s any different than way back people walking around with Jordache on clothes, etc.

My girls wanted those shirts and I said, “If you want to advertise someone else’s clothes get a job and buy it yourself.”

They did get a job and when they got their first paycheck and it was “their money” they were spending, they didn’t buy the shirt.

I don't care at all for 'message' clothing, regardless of the message... As for the use of makeup, each to their own... And no, despite the current push I simply don't accept that everyone is physically beautiful and want no part of any feel good movement to imply that we all are. Accepting oneself is wonderful, but falsely gilding the lily by claiming something as factual that simply isn't true isn't the same as accepting oneself.
