Storm Coming

Brace yourselves and say good-bye to balmy weather. There's a storm coming from the West Coast that could be a whopper. It appears to be raining in Arizona now and we expect snow in New Mexico tomorrow, up to 16 1/2" at Taos Ski Valley. It's moving East. Bitterly cold weather next week.

Guess it will be time to pay up for the nice weather we have had.

Soon I will be counting the days to Spring, even though we still

get snow in Spring, the nicer weather will come around again.

@Foolywooly11. Actually we have snow quite often, although usually not much. We had 7" Thanksgiving Day. Of course much of our state is mountainous with ski areas which have snow all winter.

I hope the storm comes to Chicago but I doubt it. It was 61 degrees today and yesterday close to 60. Crazy weather. I don't like it because when it's warm it does not kill germs like cold weather does.

@Kachina624 I'm in Arizona and talk about rain...I don't think I have seen this much rain in all the years I've lived here. I'm not complaining, we need it except it is very cold.

@Kachina624 ...It didn't just rain, it poured and it is raining as I type this. This is one time the weather forecast was accurate. I grew up in New York and I can remember how we prayed for a white Christmas, I am ecstatic that this is rain, not snow. I am not familiar with NM, do you get snow in your area?

@Lindsays Grandma. In Albuquerque, we usually get several snowfalls each winter but it's usually just 2-3", evaporates and is gone by noon. We've gotten up to 14" since I've lived here. Of course we have mountains with ski areas and they get a lot. Southern part of state rarely gets snow.

It is raining hard in Show Low and is expected to start snowing at midnight (8" today) . Stay safe!

@Ms tyrion2 : We frequently stay in Fountain Hills when we go to Phoenix. Do you see your most famous citizen often? We saw (former Sheriff) Joe Arpaio at breakfast in our hotel.

I-15 is now closed between Primm NV and Bakersfield CA due to snow and ice. Traffic is at a standstill and motorists have been encouraged to stay the night in Las Vegas. This storm is moving east and will impact most of the country.
