I was just reading this story, I HATE THESE STORIES! So tragic and so random. There was another one about a woman killed by a tire that flew off a truck some 400 feet away. You just never know when you're time is gonna come in the blink of an eye.

Those kinds of stories are so negative and bring down your mood for no good reason. What is the point? If this was a random event, then there's nothing to warn people about and there's nothing to be done about it. It doesn't need to be spread around for everyone to read. I generally don't read or watch that stuff.

If that's the case, then a lawsuit will be coming.

Most terrible things that happen are just plain random. You don't walk down the street with a bulls eye on your back. You just cross the street, enter a store, sit down in a bench, and you're killed instantly.

It's a freak accident. Something similar happened in my hometown. A man and his finance were driving up town to a restaurant, it was raining horrible with heavy winds, a piece of metal fell off a store, going thru the vechicle and killing him. The woman was trapped inside the truck, and some women who were working in a hair salon, ran to her and managed to get her to safety.

Wow! What a lawsuit the family has. The building owners knew about the maintenance problems beforehand. I hope the family sues the pant off the owners.

The woman tragically killed by a falling piece of building facade was a prominent Manhattan architect with degrees from Harvard and Princeton, The Post has learned.

Erica Tishman, 60, was a vice president at Zubatkin Owner Representation LLC, a project management company headquartered on 52nd Street, according to the firm’s website.

Living life is a risk, but I will go with living the life I enjoy. If not, is it really worth it to the individual living a life? That to me is just existing, no thanks.

This is one of the sickest tragedies ever. These kids will fry in hell for this crime. And the family of the third one on the run needs to give him up. Stop hiding and protecting him. He will be found sooner than later I pray.

Are you talking about the young college girl that was killed by a 13 year old? If so, I am with you on catching all those young kids that were involved in this horrendous act. Commit an adult crime, be tried as an adult. They know right from wrong or they would not have ran.

Looks like two tragic deaths have been conflated here: the pedestrian struck and killed by falling debris and the college student savagely murdered in Morningside Park.

The victim's age wasn't mentioned but I immediately thought...

more than likely it was an older person just enjoying the beautiful

weather....and yep, 72-yr old lady.

She was just out living her life & this young man, drunk,

literally mowed her down. So sad & senseless.

Officers arrived about 10:50 a.m. shortly after the crash in the 4500 block of Avondale Avenue, near Turtle Creek Boulevard.

According to police, the driver was headed east on Avondale when he lost control of his black Audi sedan and veered onto the sidewalk, striking the victim. The car also knocked over a light pole.

The victim, 72-year-old Nancy Dennington, was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead.

Police said the driver, 30-year-old Ryan Crews, faces a charge of intoxication manslaughter.

My understanding is ,the owners of the structure had been warned ,and ignored it..They deserve to be sued imo

Over 1300 buildings will now be inspected after this tragedy. Apparently, the faulty brick problem had not been unknown to authorities and now a woman has died. I hope these inspections will prevent more deaths. Ironic, isn't it, that they already know which buildings to look at.
