    <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;I recently had to renegotiate with Comcast.&amp;nbsp; I told the CS rep I was willing to go down one level to cut my bill down.&amp;nbsp; I was transferred to a Customer Retention rep so fast that it took me a minute to figure out what happened.&amp;nbsp; I was almost afraid to look out my front door!&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;But, I did end up with a lower bill, by about $12-$15, can't remember exact amount, and did lose TCM, which was OK because I rarely watch that channel.&amp;nbsp; Still kept HBO and Showtime and a few other movie channels.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;So, I'm all set with Comcast. Until next October, that is, when it's time to do it all over again.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <title>My Spectrum Bill Went Up</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;So forgive me, I complain a lot about Spectrum, you may want to move on! I noticed my bill went up by $11.55 from $209.88 to $221.43 ( I have cable, internet and a landline phone) two months ago. I called today because I had the time to be on hold ( over 20 minutes), of course the CS rep told me what had gone up, if I want to lower my bill I can cut out some services ( let me say I have been with the company for 18 years, when it was Time Warner Cable). She then tells me my " promotion" year is up in February, my bill will then go up to $237! You would think Spectrum would hold costs down, people are probably leaving them in droves, streaming shows, all you need is internet access. Talking to them about adjusting your bill falls on deaf ears, they don't care!&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;You can cut the cord (in favor of an antenna) and get rid of the landline (in favor of a mobile phone), but there's no alternative for internet service, though I guess you could downgrade to DSL&amp;nbsp; Prices will continue going up and up, even when there is competition, as in my area (Comcast and Verizon).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I think basic internet service is a necessity of life these days and am beginning to think it should be regulated as a public utility.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;We have been with Comcast since 2002.&amp;nbsp; I could do commercials for them, we've been so pleased.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;I started paying my sister's Spectrum bill last year.&amp;nbsp; Over the last 4 months it's gone up because she would get popups for upgrading to Gold and would say yes.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;She has Alzheimer's and only watches sports and The Game Show Channel.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;I'd call Spectrum and explain and they'd lower it back to Select.&amp;nbsp; Last bill was over $200&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;Well I called last Thursday morning and got Xavier.&amp;nbsp; Wow, was he helpful and kind and professional.&amp;nbsp; He told me about Spectrum Choice and we moved her to that.&amp;nbsp; He also is sending me the forms to get her on Internet Assist which I read about from a poster here.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;He gave me a credit for last month's $200+ bill and the bill this month will be $103.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;When she gets on Internet Assist, it will drop to $73.00.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;I'd hear horror stories about Spectrum but my experience with them has been great.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Fingers crossed this all works out.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;a href="https://community.qvc.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/35966"&gt;@Jordan2&lt;/a&gt;, do not even get me started with them!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Last month, I got our bill and it went up another $6.00 so we were just under $174.00.&amp;nbsp; I know $6.00 isn't going to make me or break me but enough was enough already.&amp;nbsp; It seemed every couple of months, the bill was going up and I was done.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We decided to dump our cable.&amp;nbsp; We went through the channels that we get and I wrote down the must-have channels.&amp;nbsp; Then we started to compare the various streaming services and went with Spectrum streaming.&amp;nbsp; We get 25 "local" channels and 25 cable channels.&amp;nbsp; There is only 1 channel that DH wanted that we don't get but we weren't going to subscribe to another service just for 1 channel.&amp;nbsp; We called Spectrum and were given a price of $24.99 a month plus a $5.00 broadcasting fee and we wanted cloud DVR service so that was $6.00.&amp;nbsp; Of course we lost our bundle discount for our high speed internet so that went up to $70.00 a month, an increase of $10.00.&amp;nbsp; But still, we were saving about $70.00 a month.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Got my first bill and it was almost $170.00.&amp;nbsp; My head almost exploded.&amp;nbsp; I looked at it and they were charging me $5.00 more for the streaming service than I was quoted and I was charged $49.99 for a change of service fee.&amp;nbsp; I spent nearly 50 minutes on the phone getting this straightened out.&amp;nbsp; They immediately credited me the change of service fee because they never told me about it (they reviewed the call) and then I was switched over to someone else who argued with me about the monthly price of the streaming package but said he was crediting me and lowering the package price.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I checked my bill about a week later and the $49.99 came off but there is no credit still for the overcharge on the monthly streaming package.&amp;nbsp; I am going to wait and see if the credit shows up on my next bill and if not, I'm calling them. Again, I know it's only $5.00 but I was quoted a price 3 times by 2 different reps and that's what they need to give me.&amp;nbsp; They are ridiculous. &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Every year for about the last 10 or so they try to raise my rates by $50 or more.I call up &amp;amp; threaten to switch to Verizon. I ask for the cancellation dept.They always negotiate with me &amp;amp; offer me packages that are equal to or better than what I have for the same or lower price.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;As it is they charge too much. When they stop negotiating with me I will not hesitate to look elsewhere. I refuse to be held hostage.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I was considering switching to Spectrum's TV Select + Internet from my silver package. There are only 125 channels, many I like not included, 200 Mbps speeds although it says speed may vary ( I'm not sure what my speed is now). This isn't a good fit for me.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Cable companies around here are now less willing to negotiate.&amp;nbsp; You will pay their price or they'll say good-bye, no hard feelings.&amp;nbsp; The only way to reduce cost is to sign a contract or drop / reduce services.&amp;nbsp; And even that doesn't work sometimes - I have landline + internet and asked what my cost would be if I dropped landline.&amp;nbsp; They said it wouldn't change, because I would lose the double-play discount.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
