    <description>&lt;P&gt;Interesting, I got a call from someone claiming to be from Amazon with questions about an order. &amp;nbsp;They said a charge had been placed on my card for an iTunes Gift Card for over $100. They then gave the item order number. There was no need for me to call them back, if I had, in fact, placed the order myself. &amp;nbsp;Of course, they knew I hadn't, so they hoped I'd call them back. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I did check and there was no such order, and I already knew that Amazon will never call you, although you may get e-mails (from the fraud team) for suspicious activity. &amp;nbsp;I have. I reported it to Ammy. &amp;nbsp;The person I talked to said she had just had a similar call, but the charge was reported to be $700. She reinforced the obvious -- 'don't call them back.'&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It's so frustrating that these scams escalate during the holiday season, when you are trying to find peace and joy. &amp;nbsp;It rather spoils a lot of the fun, to have to stay so hypervigilant to avoid trouble. &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Just a big heads up. Today I got an email supposedly from Amazon &amp;nbsp;entitled “service account notice alert”. &amp;nbsp;I opened it And it told me that there was a problem verifying my latest information and that all of my orders will be suspended pending verification of my account. &amp;nbsp;It wanted my name address social security number, etc. I opened my Amazon account to look and see if things I ordered today were suspended and they were not - they are on their way. That made me suspicious. So I called Amazon and they checked and said they never sent an email like that and they would never ask for any kind of information like that account numbers or Social Security numbers. It was fraudulent.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you get an email like that, check it out for yourself and call amazon. Soooo many people are going to get s****ed if they are not careful😕&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;a href="https://community.qvc.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/10159"&gt;@bmorechick&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;I'm in Maryland too! &amp;nbsp;I've gotten to the point that I don't reply to any emails...not even surveys from doctors's offices. &amp;nbsp;And, I don't answer the phone unless I recognize the number or they leave a message.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It's getting ridiculous! &amp;nbsp;And they've gotten very sophisticated. &amp;nbsp;It has not been unusual, in the past, for a credit card company to call to confirm a purchase. &amp;nbsp;Now, some of those are scams, and they are so realistic that people have been pulled in before they realized what has happened.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If somebody needs information from me, I call them back using the phone number I have on file for them, or the number on my credit card.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I got up the other morning, and there were about 9 scam calls on my phone already!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I understand NOMOROBO works. &amp;nbsp;But, you need to have your voice mail set up with your service provider. &amp;nbsp;I use my own personal voice mail because I don't trust anybody!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Not A THING we can do about any of it, and I'm irritated beyond belief today. &amp;nbsp;Thanks for letting me vent. &amp;nbsp;&lt;img id="smileyhappy" class="emoticon emoticon-smileyhappy" src="https://community.qvc.com/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.png" alt="Smiley Happy" title="Smiley Happy" /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;And, thanks for posting the information!&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;A few years ago I received a call from one of my credit card companies stating that they were verifying two purchases made on my card that morning. &amp;nbsp; Since they were for very large charges and not something that would normally be charged to my account they held both the items and the charges until they could be verified. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I happened to be out that morning and when I returned the message had been left on my voice mail. &amp;nbsp; Since I wasn't sure if it was a scam or a legitimate call I was hesitant to call them back on the number they left for me. &amp;nbsp; I decided to instead call the customer service number for that particular credit card. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It did turn out to be a legitimate call. &amp;nbsp;They told me since the charges did not fall into my usual purchase activity a red flag had popped up and they did not allow the charges to go through.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The scammer&amp;nbsp;lost out on that ruse. &amp;nbsp;He/she never received their very expensive watch or computer.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I was so grateful that the credit card company quickly picked up on it and put a stop to the thieves, at least for that purchase anyway.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;A while back, I got a pop-up from N*rton, saying that my N*rton security has expired (or is very close to being expired), to renew now, etc. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;Guess what!&amp;nbsp; My security isn't with N*rton. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;It did look legitimate, but thank goodness I realized that I don't use N*rton.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

If you are concerned and want to double check to see if the call is legit, call the number on the back of your ID card.... Many people have reported a big increase in this robo scam call this week ...&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
