@QVCkitty1Got an offer from Nordstrom also - didn't even sign in to see how much because the actual offer will come after the New Year. Jamuary is already a heavy month on my financial calendar - I need to save money, not spend more.

I will look, but if I end up using their offer, it will be for something I would have purchased anyway. Still, I guess they win if I make the purchase from them.

They do, but with free shipping and the code, if you need it, you win too.

isn't it nice, when as an EXISTING CUSTOMER, there are promotions/discounts for you, especially when they aren't tied to using a specific credit card and are good for longer then 'until end of the day'.

Just curious for those who are getting the discounts. Are you existing card holders for a number of years? Or ones who are attached through your phone number, only? Or something different? I ask because I have been a card holder forever and get zilch consistently. I find they love to give all the perks to the people who are attached with just the phone number or to get new customers.

I'm not a card holder, and I only buy occasionally.

@WsmomI don't hold their card - I don't hold any store cards and haven't for more than 10 years.

I used to shop Nordstrom for lots of my clothing as well as for jewelry and handbags. Starting a few years back, I've had trouble finding much at all I wanted and liked. There have been whole years during which I spent nothing there as well as several when I bought exactly one item - and nothing expensive at that.

I did find a sweater and a bra there last week - first 2 purchases in 2019! All my notice said was that I'd get a reward for that purchase, but gave no indication of how much and the offer won't arrive until after the holidays and even well into clearance time. No idea how much. Be interesting to see if it's enough to make me look.

i get emails for the discounts. i have/had a nordstrom card, maybe 30+ years ago, but haven't used it. they definitely do not have my cell phone number.

someplace on their web site, i'm sure that there is a way to sign up to be notified of sales, which probably includes getting the emails for the discounts. if it isn't there, send them an email asking to be added to their email list. i can't imagine that they would say no.

exactly right. It's like cable companies having fantastic deals for new customers then jacking up prices for long time loyal ones.

if you have more than one email address, there is nothing stopping you from signing up for their mailing list under multiple email addresses. from time to time, i have noticed that i get emails/sales/discounts sent to 1 email address and not another, not just from nordstrom, but from several companies. even more interesting, emails with a discount code can vary also. for example, one email account will have a code for 20% off and another will be for 25% off. reminds me of back in the day when victoria secret was doing that with the prices in their catalogs and then got busted.
