SKUNK!!!!!

Okay, I was in bed, sleeping, when I was awoken by the pungent stench from a skunk that had sprayed.

I have crawl space under my house, and it smelled like the stench was coming from under my house.

Do you think someone could have been smoking marijuana outside.I think that smells like skunk.

@Anonymous032819 Oh boy, we have been through that and the skunk had babies in the crawl space. We tried everything to get them out and finally had to call someone to lure them out and seal up the space. Good luck you and I hope you don't have babies under your house. They are very territorial and will come back again and again if they think they have found a safe "home."

I went out on blind date my parents cooked up for me, [decades ago] He was very nice attractive, well read funny..... until he said he loved the smell of skunk that was the first and the last time I ever dated him again. YIKES!

I hate to tell you this but good luck with your skunk....Even though I live in the city we have some fields and Green Belts around our subdivision so we get lots of critters and one critter couple was Mr. & Mrs. Skunk....who liked to discourage the feral cats so they left their calling card..PHEWWWWWW!!!! The smell permeated through the walls, the windows, and I had to light some candles to get some relief.....

The neighborhood homemade remedies of moth balls, and fresh dirt did not discourage our "little couple"...I asked a friend who lives out in the country how to get rid of the skunks humanely...she said you can buy stuff at a feed store but it really doesntt work very well....she remembered one place she lived at one time, like your house, @Anonymous032819 this house had a crawl space where some skunks made their home....she could not get rid of them and had to put up with the smell...she was a college student and couldntt afford to move...the only way the whole thing ended was that the skunks started dying off (due to old age apparently) .....So GOOD LUCK!

Someone in our neighborhood finally called a Wildlife Agency and non-profit that humanely captured them and took them to their refuge where they have large fields for the skunks to roam....

We've had a few run ins with skunks..always my dogs being the instigators. And they've always gotten a snootful. The skunk isn't an aggressive little creature,they try to run before aiming. We DONOT let our dogs in the yard after dark. They come into our backyard to eat the bird seed after dark.

Personally I'd rather smell the marijuana and I don't even smoke it. There is nothing worse than a skunk, period.

We have a skunk and an opossum every night at our front porch. I put food out for the feral cats and if they don't eat all of it, the skunk and opossum come and eat it together. It's really very cute to see them together.

Did you ever hit a skunk with your car?? I did🙋‍♀️, years ago on a road trip. Thought we'd have to take the car out to the woods and bury it. Whatta stench!

Yep, whole families will set up house. It is well worth while to inspect covers often, simpler than a eviction.

I'm awakened by the smell of a skunk so strong it's nauseating ever once in awhile. They are just passing by and the odor is gone in the morning. I may not smell it again for weeks or months.

@Anonymous032819. Do you smell skunk this morning?

I thought that the stench was coming from under my house, because that's where it smelled like it was coming from.

Well, I was wrong.

I went out to my car this morning to go to work and in the middle of the road, right in front of my house, was the body of one dead skunk.

The poor critter may have lost its life, but it got in the last "word".
