Today I Got My First Senior Discount!

I gotta laugh!

After work today, I went to Grocery Outlet, to do some grocery shopping.

They sell a wide selection of overstock stuff at a discount.

Anyway, I spent just a hair under $90, but I saved $75.40

I took a look at my receipt, and I saved 5% off of each item that I bought.

I laugh because I'm not a senior!

I'm fourty-freakin-nine! *lol*

But, hey! I'll take the discount! *lol*

@Anonymous032819, did they ask you if you were? Usually if they aren´t sure they will ask. Was the cashier a teenager?

If you only paid $14.60 for $90 worth of groceries, you saved more than 5% per item.

I spent just a few pennies under $90, but I saved (it says so right on the receipt) $75.40.

Also, right on the receipt it says next to each item, 5% Senior.

My local Tops does a "young at heart " day the first Tues. of every month. They put something on your bonus card so you automatically get the 6% discount on your total order. You have to be 60 to qualify.

Something like 75% for just a senior discount.

Order was almost $90 and you spent $15.

If this is the old Amelia's which is now Grocery Outlet, we had one in our

area and then it closed.

It was alot of closeout and expired food. They sold some merchandise too.

I SPENT NINETY ($90)

$90 came OUT of my bank account to PAY for my groceries.

But on the reciept it says that I SAVED $75.40 by shopping there, plus, I got a 5% discount on each item.

For example, spicy brown mustard - was $0.99, but I saved $0.05 (nickle) with my senior discount. It was FIVE PERCENT off of EACH item.

But $90 came OUT of my bank to PAY for the groceries.

I would be more excited with the Store Reward Discount of $75.40

than the Senior Discount of 8.69 🤷‍♀️

Did I get it right?

Okay I gotcha! Your order would've come to $165.40, but you only ended up paying $90.

That's about a 46% savings. Lots of stuff was on sale I guess.
