iMedia Web Services, which includes ShopHQ as one of it's companies, is launching two new shopping businesses (excerpts taken from their website):

Bulldog Shopping Network: Men's shopping and lifestyle television network offering men's merchandise, entertainment and services. With a fresh & relevant programming format, Bulldog will be a video rich content hub for men shopping with their own interests in mind while still being accessible by the female shopper searching for men's gear. Headquartered in MN. Launching November 2019.

LaVenta Shopping Network: New omni-channel, Spanish language, television shopping network celebrating the Latin culture’s merchandise, services and personalities. Programming will center on the top entertainment categories in the Latin culture such as beauty, watches, and jewelry. Headquartered in Miami, FL. Launching in 1st Qtr. 2020.

This may be filling an overlooked niche. The success of shopping channels is in doubt right now so this may be risky. I like the Jambu shoes that are sold on ShopHQ at very good prices.

I'm actually looking forward to the Bulldog Shopping Network, as I have a son and male relatives I still shop for all during the year. More ideas would be helpful.

I just hope it's not merely a repository for more Invicta saucer-sized watches.

One of Bulldog's execs, Jean Sabatier Executive Vice President, Chief Commerce Officer, served as Director, Sales and Product Planning for QVC, Inc. Prior to that time, Jean held various positions in QVC’s German business unit, including Director, Programming and Planning from 2003 to 2007. He began his QVC career as a sales and product planner in 1997.

I like the idea of Bull Dog Shopping, I think men are an untapped resource when it comes to online and tv shopping networks.

I could be all wrong about this but I just cant see the average male sitting down and watching a shopping channel, even if it is for men. Im sure there are exceptions of course.

This sounds like a good idea - both the male-oriented channel and the Latin-oriented one. I wonder if Invicta watches will be moved to Bulldog.

@Imaoldhippie, me either. I'm guessing they are counting on women watching and ordering for their men.

My husband would rather me poke him in the eyes with sharp sticks than watch even a minute of any home shopping. He also thinks what is sold on these shopping channels is all junk and just rolls his eyes when he sees a package delivered from any of them to me.

Gay friends of my son love watching the shopping channels when they're home alone, sick or having a "shopping party". I was talking to one of them about it and in his opinion, the need to up the fashion and home/lifestyle sections to appeal to gay men. It will be interesting to see how the "Bulldog" channel is set up.

very interesting! I can see my husband watching all of 10 minutes of it, he is very very picky, so he will know within 10 minutes if it anything he would want......It will be very interesting to see how well this does! It is definitely an untapped market.

I have long thought home shopping should have offered more variety of male centered merchandise. There is always sports merchandise, sporadic skincare etc. It is about time they offered more. I would love to be able to shop for my son and brother on home shopping networks.
