huge errors in pricing on HSN

there have been some huge markdown errors (and at least one regular pricing error) on HSN in the jewelry department. they are in the process of cancelling orders....... there are some pretty upset hsn customers right now.....

People should have realized something was drastically wrong. They should have reported it rather than racing to place orders.

Bells should have gone off with this one. When something sounds too good to be true, it probably is and in this case, it DEFINITELY was. Although I can understand the frustration of having an order cancelled, and you did not initiate it, I can't imagine anyone not knowing that this was some sort of programming malfunction. They just cannot afford to give away expensive jewelry, unless it is part of a sweepstakes, which this clearly was not. Maybe this says more about the greed of some of it's customers, than it does about the glitches of HSN.

I remember when this happened at a gas station once and people were filling up like crazy. I think they honored the price displayed. I wonder if HSN had to honor any of the orders.

Wow lol, those would've been some real bargains, but it should've been obvious that it was an error and as another poster mentioned, rather than taking "advantage" of the error(s) I would have just called to notify them of the issue so it could be fixed/addressed.

JMO anyways

It did make me think though, does anyone know if HSN would HAVE to honor the price if a customer was insistent and pressed the issue? (which in my opinion isn't right, bc I think that is just pure greed) I've always thought if something is advertised as a certain price the company HAD to honor it? Anyone here know the real answer? I'm just curious.

Personally, if I saw this going on, I would have called CS and asked if the price was valid. Anyone thinking they could sneak by getting such a "deal" without questioning these prices is either delusional or just plain STUPID. Or a person who likes to get away with screwing someone over.

@Imaoldhippie Exactly! They are the same people who if they say found a diamond ring on the road....or huge amount of cash....they would just keep it. Not even try to find the owners.... No Morales.
