Disgusting e-mails

For many years I've had have a hotmail email address that I use just for certain things, shopping mainly, Land's End, In the Swim, etc. Anyway I've always received a lot of junk mail that went into my junk mail folder but holy cow the past few weeks that folder has received a TON of junk mail with very se*&ally explicit subject lines. It comes from weird addresses, looks to me like foreign countries. I keep blocking the addresses but it keeps coming from others. I wish it would stop.

A couple of years ago it was tons of junk mail in Japanese or Korean or one of those foreign languages, that finally stopped, now this.

For a while I was getting similar nasty emails....they were always in my spam, thank goodness. Lately, I have not gotten as many, still lots of spam, but not as icky as I had gotten in the past.

Some of the titles would curl your hair!

I'm getting those too. I send it to spam and try to block them, but they still keep coming. Somehow these people got our emails from something we looked at on our computers. I don't think there is much we can do except delete them.

Don't open it! That's the way many bad viruses get into your computer.

This was the way so many dentist's offices got hit with a $5,000 randsome virus this last summer. DH has had clients where they have almost had entire servers ruined.

Awhile ago I figured out the reason for all my junk mail......it was Pinterest. I go and search through Pinterest all the time. I mentioned to my daughter that I was getting so much junk mail. She said it was because of Pinterest. So I quit searching through Pinterest and no more junk mail.

I've had this problem for a while now. It started a couple of years ago when I took my car (a Lincoln) in for service at the dealer that did all my repair work. A particular service advisor, sleazy I must say, promised me a rebate on parts. Shortly after, the spam and junk mail spiked like I have never had. I suspect he stole my email address. Many are annoyingly sexually exlicit. I try and control them the best I can, but cannot stop them. I want to keep this email address I've had for 29 years. The dealer had my email on file with my address and phone number.

I started receiving these horrible emails a few months ago in huge numbers they come twice a day 8 or nine in a row. I think it has to do with the reversal of the internet law. This went into effect a year ago. The previous law inacted about 8 years ago prohibited internet providers from selling email addresses. Now they can sell them. The reason is that it is not fair to stimy the business of those who want to market to us ditectly. It was holding business back.

hogwash. i am so mad and there is no way for me to block these numbers on my computer.

Hhmm, that's interesting. I did peruse Pinterest several times a couple of months ago but not lately. But these are nasty, often have the 4 letter word in the subject line and often in regards to Russian ladies! I also get ones for male enhancement (my email addy clearly shows I'm female) but at least they aren't dirty....so far.

The only place I know of that had that particular e-mail listed for all the world to see was my high school alumni site (I graduated when dinosaurs still roamed the earth) but I had that removed about a year ago as I suspected a lot of junk mail was coming due to that. The foreign language ones went away so hopefully this too shall pass.

I've had the same email account for over 25 years, and I don't get any kind of dirty emails like that. I do notice that if I'm looking up a specific product online then go to my Facebook, many products that I was just looking up online will show up in my feed as "suggested" or "recommended," then I'll get emails based on the products I've been looking at. It seems that everything is connected these days.

Yep, I got hit with that too....I just hoovered my cursor over the email address (I never open the emails with the suggestive topic line)and I blocked the address.

And another thing I did which is the reason I like AOL EMAIL is in addition to email addresses you can also block emails based on specific words too and it even stops the emails from going to spam....These perverts kept changing their email address but all were similiar so it was probably the same group, but when I blocked "words" that finally stopped the emails once and for all....

Delete them and move on. The problem is that you opened some and read them and did all manner for poking around. I can't begin to understand why. But to the computer operated systems that are sending that stuff out, you raised your electronic had and said "I'm interested!" so now you are being slammed with the stuff. Delete them and move on.

I get a ton of them as well and have contacted Yahoo numerous times. They do have the ability to drill down to the source and block them from the Yahoo servers, but they just aren’t interested in doing it. They say that as long as they go to the spam folder, the program is working correctly. Oddly, every time I contact them, they do drop considerably for a few months, but then they’re back again.

DH used my email address to get some photos sent from someone on Craigslist. Scam, I now get all the risque emails. The only way I can dump them is to get a new email. Not happening, but Gmail is good about trashing this stuff for me before I even see it. People on Craigslist make money by selling these email names.

I get a ton of them as well to my hotmail account. In my case it isn't affiliated with Pinterest at all because my hotmail account is linked to Pinterest.

I just click delete all and move on. It's a several times a day occurrence.

This is not true in my case. I never opened one of them. All I did was check the box to delete all and did that. More and more just keep coming in.

I Have never gotten them. What I can't stand are calls from V even if you block them. Always different numbers. Wish the telephone company would do something about them.
