Kitchen flooring

We currently have wood flooring in our kitchen which I am starting to hate

cannot keep it clean and every time I drop something it makes a dink.

Anyone else feel this way about flooring.

Our home has wood flooring in the kitchen area as well and although it doesn't bother me, it makes my husband crazy with regard to dropping things and damaging.

We are presently building a home and he is insisting we go with the tile that looks like wood transitioning to the kitchen from the rest of the common area that will be hardwood. It is very pretty - quite versatile.

YES dislike - have never had it but people seem to love it ------ hate the look - the feel under foot - dark wood doesn't appear clean w/shine. Reminds of barn flooring.

Take a look at the new vinyl wood look planks. They're beautiful and indistinguishable from the real thing. I don't have it but wish I did.

I have had pre-finished hardwood floors in my kitchen for years now. All I do is damp mop it regularly and occasionally, if needed, use Bona. It still looks like new after all these years. The only dents on it are a result of the guys replacing my refrigerator a few years ago. Fortunately, it's in an area that doesn't show.

When we built our house we put hardwood floors throughout except for the bathroom. The hardwood does ding, stain and mark if they are in high traffic areas. When we finished our basement and put in a kitchen there,we put in the laminate floating floors. So far so good 3 years later, but you can tell they are not hardwood.

I have ceramic tile in the kitchen and love it. So easy to clean with my Hahn floor steamer. I do have some floors similar to Pergo Outlast and they are super easy to maintain. Easy to install and clean. Pergo has a many choices. That one gets my vote for easy install.

That's good stuff for the kitchen and bath. I was over at a house near me where they were remodeling the kitchen and I was shocked when they told me it wasn't real wood...it was that vinyl plank material. Looked fantastic and I'm sure it will hold up well in a kitchen.

We have teak hardwood flooring throughout except our bathrooms and laundry room. I've never given my wood floors a thought while in my ktchen. I have no problems. Our floors are so easy and beautiful. Its the best thing we picked for our newer home. Love everything about them.

A lot of people are now using the laminate or vinyl plank. They look beautiful especially in a big open space.

We had luxury vinyl plank flooring by Coretec installed in our kitchen. Very easy to clean and it has fooled a few people that it isn’t wood. But it can mar like any vinyl if something really heavy or sharp falls on it. I think any flooring (except for carpet) can mar under the right circumstances. I have extra planks set aside just in case any need replacement.

My neighbor has ceramic tile in her kitchen, and hates it. Says everything she drops, even from a short height, shatters.

I have ceramic too and I hate trying to keep the grout clean...never again.I use a toothbrush on grout and can never just damp mop or the dirty water settles in the grout.

We've had hardwood floors in our kitchen for almost 15 years. They look fine. We don't drop many things though.

I have hardwood floors throughout my downstairs level and I don't have a problem with keeping them clean or dents. We did have them refinished we we moved in as the previous owner had a dog whose claws strached up the wood. We have a cat that has claws but she's too small to have an impact.

I also have hardwoood floors at my beach house and I hate them. They are dark wood and every speck of dust and cat hair is visible. We are switching them out this year for a grey toned floor.

we are also in the middle of doing flooring in the kitchen. we are selecting big squares of a vinyl flooring that looks like stone. the one thing i didn't want was something that looks like wood. WAY too much wood in the house already.

this has a backing already on it, and a slight texture.

we are in the process of whittling down the choices right now. bringing home a samples.

No brown tones. i want to be able to see the dirt on the floor, not have it blend in.

We had light maple on our previous kitchen, dark wood on this one and the maple we lived on for 25 years and it still looked great, even with a few dings from dropped cans.

We like the dark ones as well, and just run the dyson over it in the spots that collect crumbs at night when it needs it.

We put dark gel mats in front of the stove and the sink and they are great!

We went with laminate wood look flooring. It looks realistic and is easy to maintain. We have heated ceramic tiles in the bathroom. Would never want that in the kitchen.
