POPEYE sandwich

chicken sandwich is back. Showed them on GMA this morning lined up 3 deep at a restaurant already. They're good, but, it will be replaced eventually by another craze I'll have to wait till then.

@Krimpette @It’s a marketing game.Make something in short supply and everyone wants it.I don’t think there is anything special about it.far as I know it’s just chicken and a pickle.

My DD manages a Popeyes and she said yesterday was just crazy!

When she arrived at 7:30 AM, before they even open, the line was outrageous and people were even slipping orders (CC#'s included!) under the closed doors!

When I asked her if they were THAT good, she said, "Mom, it's just a chicken sandwich, nothing special about it!"

They didn't run out of them, but by 3PM, they ran out of enough thawed buns/chicken and had to post a sign that they wouldn't be available again until 7PM.

I think it's just all of the viral/media hype.

Their fried chicken is really good so I would imagine the sandwich would be as well. Missed it the first time around but will wait out the crowds for a couple of weeks. Hopefully they are well stocked with new vendors for the chicken breasts.

Its just a marketing ploy...and thats ALL. Nothing special. Just trying to drum up business from the other chicken businesses.

I'll pass. I had one in the summer when everyone was raving about them. It was ok but I was not impressed. It's not something I would go out of my way to order.

Wow they must use a lot of fat to fry with. I think Chick-fil-A is only just above the 400 calorie range and about .50 cents cheaper.

Chik-fil-A based an entire successful franchise on putting chicken and a pickle on a bun. Seems pretty popular and I won't eat at Chik-fil-A, so I'm happy to have an alternative.

Had one yesterday! My 16 yr old granddaughter waited in the drive in lane for 1 hour and 20 minutes. We thought maybe she was kidnapped. She brought home 1 spicy and one regular and we split them.

THEY WERE FABULOUS!!! The chicken piece was huge and well breaded. Not greasy. It has two pickles that are crispy dill but the kind you find in the refrigerated area of the grocery store. A Mayo aioli on a brioche bun. I loved it. I think it takes Chick Fil A in a landslide.

JMO!!!

Out of sheer curiosity, I want to try this sandwich. What makes it so good that people are willing to wait for hours in line??? Hope I get to try it one day but not willing to wait in a long line for the privilege.

It doesn't taste that great. My family tried them when they first came out and we were all "Eww."

Check Fil A's is far better to us.

Whoa....700 !!! They must put a ton of that mayo on it. I guess we can save 300 calories buy saying 'no mayo'. I don't think we have a Popeye's here so I don't have to worry about it. They used to have popcorn crawfish during the season but I don't know if they still do. It was soooo good.

I can't imagine standing in line for a chicken sandwich or anything else includung tickets, waiting for stores to open at Christmas (folks who camp out for days), or the latest tech thing.

Unless it's something life-saving for my family, I don't do lines.

The closest Popeye's is about 25 miles away, if I was in the area I would try it. The 700 calories doesn't bother me because the sandwich would be a once in a lifetime splurge.

No Popeye's or Chik-Fil-A near where I live, but Culver's Spicy Chicken sandwich is very tasty. It comes in at 490 calories with lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles.
